Have $$$, Now What Do I Spend It On?

So after I go shopping today, I'm going to have upwards of about $200 spending money between Amazon and cash from Christmas and birthday. Now the question is, what should I do with it?
I could buy some Affinity and/or Modern staples (maybe like a Mox Opal and a Arcbound Ravager plus add-ons). If my LGS still has a $40 Mox Opal, I'll definitely pick that up. Though Mox Opal could be reprinted in MM2...
I could save some of it for MM2 drafting; I might have to if it's $50 to draft. X.X
Or I could save a large chunk of it to buy a box of Return to Zendikar if it turns out to be a good set. If not, then I'll buy Modern staples.
So, what should I do? There are a few different options and I feel conflicted.

Oh no, I'd only buy the ones that I know for sure aren't getting reprints, like Abrupt Decay, Thoughtseize, Tarkir fetches, etc.

Those are the only ones I'd buy immediately, I mean.

Innistrad and more recent staples are safe, and mythics likely will not change drastically in price. An example of a card you don't want to buy right now is Noble Hierarch (Though keyword abilities do decrease its chance of a reprint. I'm looking at you too, Serum Visions). Don't buy a box of Zendikar, I think modern staples are much more valuable long term. MM2 drafting is fun, so if you are a drafting fanatic that is a good place to spend it too.

Waiting is probably your best bet. Modern Masters 2 will change the prices of cards, and Return to Zendikar will likely have fetchlands. Both could have more value, and modern staples are currently expensive since it is modern season.

Tarmy, Emrakul & Karn are spoiled for MM2, you could buy those. And pretty much Etched Champion too, but not really.

If you aren't sure, wait. We are likely to see price fluxes aplenty nowabouts what with the shifting meta post-ban and with the upcoming reprints. If there isn't anything you need urgently for a deck, just sit on the cash. Besides, maybe you'll have a real-life emergency and need it ;)

Assuming this is a exclusively a profit minded question - now is the perfect time to engage in speculating the new set. So far, it's value looks good. Pay attention to standard meta, and keep watch of spoilers.
Otherwise, pump 200 bucks into a competitive deck and go try to win that value back. Much less 'work' if you're not into speculation, but not likely to be as effective.

Mox Opal I'd wait on and Arcbound Ravager I'd buy, since MM1 reprints in MM2015 are less likely with a few exceptions.

You know, you don't have to spend all your extra money on Magic Cards. Even if that's what you choose, you don't have to buy anything now. Just sit on it and wait for a while until you know you want something, instead of having to ask others where to spend your cash.
If you're looking to invest in cards for potential profit, I would probably point at Legacy staples. Duals are pretty much the best long-term investments around, considering they're reserved.

You could buy ALOT of Homelands! Lol... Yeah, don't do that.
March 11, 2015 12:47 p.m.
Wait for a bit, prices tend to drop about a montg or 2 from now in modern when people are geeking out over the new standard.
March 11, 2015 12:51 p.m.
SimicPower well, yes and no. Yes, it was the key art for MM2, but we haven't seen an Etched Champion with the MM2 logo yet. We'll have to wait a while longer. In other news, Tarmogoyf!

If you have to buy something now KTK fetches, they're like 10-15$ and they're almost a promise of increasing in the future bar more reprints. But I agree with everyone else, wait for RTZ and MM2015

200$? That's enough for a single Goyf. They are a good investment!

I wouldn't buy any Modern staples right now, until they spoil all of MM2. Just to be safe.
