About to seal the deal and trade a heap of rotating standard stuff for 2 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
and some extras
I know Kalitas is played in Modern, but is he worth trading towards? Especially if most of the stuff I'm trading away is good in Standard, but unplayable in modern?
Also, I currently only play standard and EDH, but am looking into getting into modern

I'd do this in a heartbeat. Even if you don't want Kalitas, you should be able to easily flip him, much easier than everything else. Do the numbers work out?

For tcg mid, I'm trading up, but for scg prices, he would be trading up by $16 or something.

UPDATE
He's kind of hesitant, so I'm not pushing too much. I offered all of the things listed above plus 1x Matter Reshaper, 1x Cryptolith Rite, 1x Prairie Stream, and a bunch of old art lands for his 2x foil Kalitas and his promo Aguished Unmaking
He's quite hesitant even though he's getting the better half of the deal value wise as of right now, but he might go for it. Another thing is he has 2 Foil Full art Languishes, a playset of promo Ultimate Prices and a foil monastery mentor that he keeps bringing up, but I'd personally prefer the Kalitas

Not that it has any bearing on this specific trade, but I'd guess the Monastery Mentor has the best likelihood of retaining value. Legacy players love their foils more than most everyone else (totally subjective) and mentor is here to stay in older formats.

You have over 70.00 in trades there. 2 kalitas are 60.00So its up to you. I wouldnt trade all that just for 2 kalitas but thats me. He will drop soon and then id get them.

kalitas is a modern staple and I'm sure there are edh players who love it

When did kaltas become a modern staple, what tier deck is he played in because i have not seen him in competitive modern yet .

It's played in Grixis and Jund lists as up to a 2 of, often replacing Huntmaster of the Fells Flip.

I'd make this trade every day. Try to nix the kalitas ASAP, but it's totally worth doing.
