Depends. In the long term, it can only go up. In the short term, it won't see any more drastic spikes, so if you want the money for the general near future, selling it is the best option.

Don't need the money just curious about the long term potential.

going up is technically true but that doesnt mean that it will go up a significant amount and not any time in the near future

About how long would you say before it sees a rise?

multiple years people know what they are worth and bfz is still available and they are getting opened all the time

I will gladly trade it with you :-). It will take at least a year to rise in price, most likely more. If they get reprinted they will drop too. And they will be reprinted (albeit not as the same art). And if they are reprinted in standard the price will be much reduced.

expeditions will not see a fall in price when a regular version is reprinted and I would not say expeditions will be printed almost ever

i think you are a little wrong there. When more lands become hugely abundant like fetches would if reprinted in modern, they would drop a little. And it would take a while for them to raise. If they were actually full art foil or textless foil they wouldn't, but given these have the ugly brains border and a very, very slightly larger art box, the premium for them might well not be worth it, especially if the standard versions had nice art. Just my two cents

I'd go even farther than EmblemMan and guarantee that the expeditions will never see a reprint. It's a special sub-set for collectors that is specific to the plane of zendikar. So there is no chance of them being reprinted in any set that doesn't take place on Zendikar. If we ever manage to go back to Zendikar it's highly unlikely they would do a second expedition sub-set in the first place and even more unlikely that they would just reprint all the same cards if there was a second expedition set. There are 24 total expeditions so this makes including them in something like a Modern Masters expansion unlikely as well. It would take up a huge chunk of the rares available in the set and would greatly effect limited play (drafts). So I'd say it's pretty safe to say that the Expeditions will never see a reprint. Their original versions may, but that won't have any bearing on the special sub-set of expeditions.

The way I see it, you can't lose money by hold on to it. It will eventually go up because the cards can only become more scarce. Sure BFZ was a largely opened set, but these weren't printed at common lol. They will only be harder to find and acquire as time passes.

What it comes down to is how patient you can be. You can't expect immediate large jumps in price right after rotation, that's just not going to happen. But the longer you hold it the more value it will gain. Will it max out in value in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, no one can tell you because there is nothing to compare this too (a small sub-set of full art foils inside of another set). The only thing people can tell you with any certainty is that your not going to lose value. How much value you do eventually get out of it though, will depend entirely on how patient you are.

I'm with abenz419 on this one, but I still believe you should ditch it if you're not using it. Cards in decks are infinitely better than ones in plastic protectors.

Right, no one would fault you for trading it away. It does posses value and would make up a large chunk of value in a trade. It's completely understandable for someone not specifically into collecting to not want to sit on a card for a possible 5-10 years.

Basically what I was getting at is, if you do want to hold onto it for your own personal collection, then don't be discouraged that it's not gaining in value as fast as you hoped it would. It's something that will take time to acquire its full potential. Just know that it's not going to lose value so you don't need to unload it immediately for fear of it dropping.
