I have never seen this before. First off the card is a Skirk Prospector With a little play on it. The border is all the way white on the left, and bottom, and black on the right and top. I could not find a picture to link you to something similar. Is this a common misprint? Either way, is there any value in it at all?

I thought I would be able to find a similar misprint somewhere to post, but I can not.
Not really good at that kind of stuff. Shoot me an email, and I can send you a picture. [email protected]
I appreciate the help.

I'm not sure I can judge it, but I thought that other people would better be able to if they had a picture.
Just go to imgur and click the button third from the left. It should give you a few options of where to upload from, and choose the one where the picture you would've sent me is stored.

I was all about popping goblins with Skirk Prospector to cast Rorix Bladewing back in the day. Good times.
I don't think the card is worth anything.

Is it even played in legacy Goblins (not that that is even a deck right now)?

It's played in a lot of red EDH decks because you can search it up for an infinite combo using Goblin Recruiter . Grab him, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , Lightning Crafter , and a Goblin Ringleader , put the ringleader on top, then play it and win the next turn. That is fun and interactive magic. But it's still not worth anything.

Skirk Prospector is still played in Goblins for both Legacy and Vintage because of its interactions with Goblin Sharpshooter . The deck isn't as good as it used to be, but definitely one of the better tier two decks in either format.
Can you take a picture and upload it to http://tinypic.com/? From what it sounds like, that type of misprint isn't common. Usually things are miscut, but never two different borders on either half. Not to mention, it's on a playable card. Third, the set it's from will matter.
Here's a list of common misprints and how it affects card prices:
Personally, I'd love a misprint Skirk Prospector . You might be able to get upwards of $5 for it.

Thank you guys. I still have not found anything similar. I will try to get a picture when I have a few minutes. Do you have to sign up to that tiny pic site to use it?

No, Tiny Pic is free to upload to and they'll save the picture indefinitely. The only thing you have to do is fill in a captcha to make sure you're not a spam bot haaha.

That's weird...
Not sure it's worth money though.
Most people would surely rather use a normal card that looks the same as the rest of the deck.

For those who don't want to copy/paste a URL. It could be worth something, but I'm no expert. This is certainly one of the stranger misprints I've even seen.

I'd be interested in trading for this, but also am not sure what to value it at.

I was looking for it, and found a misprint collector on reddit. He got back to me, and said it could be a really good eraser job. So I don't think I want to trade it if it could be made, and not misprint. Just don't want to pass something off as a cool/valuableish thing, if it could just be worthless.
I have met a big time misprint collector here before. I might just try to find him, and see. He has quite the collection of oddities. Summers, and all that. I will let you know if I see him, and ask him about this.

i read part of the article related to this, and i have a question,
are miscut worth more than missprints? disregarding the card value an all other variables?

It's all in the eye of the beholder. I value misprints and signed cards lower than the normal card.

Meh it seems the misct misprint people are numerous enough that it is a little more then eye of the beholder, but it seems that is where the value lies. You can get more for a misprint or miscut then it's value. I have never had one, but I have seen it happen. Miscut is not just off center.

Rasta_Viking29 that is true in fact i value signed cards higher than misprints and miscuts
11 years ago i had a friend who had a Forgotten Ancient scourge edition with the ray of lights from the art going out through all the card frame till the edge of the card, now that i think about it it feels much like the planeswalker pattern to go out of the card art frame, i wonder how much that card would worth or how much people would had pay for it if he would have sell it, since we didnt even care about it we treated it as a damaged card

While I personally do not like them as much, there are enough people that value them higher. This means if someone is offering you a fraction of the price of the original card, as opposed to more, just go to the next guy. Just the same with any card really. If you know someone will give you more go to them. I would not buy a Black Lotus because I do not value that card as high as it's price. But others do, so go to them when selling one.

If you still have it, I'd be interested in it, even if it is just a nice eraser job. Later today, I'm gonna get around to uploading my trade binder, I'll throw another message up here.

Can you take a picture of it and upload it to a photo hosting site like imgur so we can see it?
