I have thousands of tip cards and basic lands...what do?

I think with the lands, I'll probably give them away to the store to use for drafts. But with the tip cards? As far as I know, they can't be recycled (too much ink, plastic on the inside) and they aren't worth anything.
Do I just throw them in the trash? It seems like a waste of paper and materials. Is there someplace that I can check to see if they recycle them? Is there something someone has come up with for reusing them (such as breaking them down into a weird, recycled paper)?
It doesn't feel right to throw thousands of them into the trash.
FNM venues usually need plains for some reason. Islands are just the best card period. Hold on to all of those.

I've actually kept some of the cooler tips cards like the ones from Alara that describe the Shard colors. They make really neat collectors pick ups because they always just get thrown away. Some of the middle of the road ones that have nice colors I've made into casual deckboxes with clear packing tape.

I keep all of mine in a box. My teacher said that the original ads in the first D&D manual are worth a ton, so I'm hoping these could be too.
Or just write on them for proxies.

We used to have bonfires and throw them in. We had contests like throwing them as ninja stars, a lot harder than you'd expect.
