So tomorrow, when I head out to my LGS, Im picking up 2x Tarmogoyf and a Dark Confidant for 250$. The owner of my LGS is THE MAN. He knows im a regular that always spends money at the store, so he hooks me up. This money should be going towards fixing my car, but you dont get opportunities like this too often, so im going to hop on it, the car can wait. WOOT WOOT!

That's pretty cool of your LGS owner though.

Did they ship directly from China...?

Even if you trust him, make sure they're legit first. Lots of counterfeits going around.

Yeah i heard about those fakes. theyve been in the case for a wicked long time, and as far as I know those fakes have been going around for like 3-4 months now. How can I know for sure besides the tear test?

There have been fakes going around for over ten years, but these Chinese ones just happen to be very good.

If they've been in a case for ages, you're probably okay. But take a look at some examples of fakes (google) and legit cards, so you know how to spot some red flags.

Be sure to tear the cards in half and look for the blue line in the middle of each card. That way, you'll know for sure whether or not they're fake.

Here's an example:

basically the text looks bolder on the fakes and the spacing is slightly different.

These chinese counterfeits actually havve that blue layer in the middle.

Tear them up anyway and make sure they're not Romanian counterfeits, just to rule them out.
