I have a foil prerelease promo of Kytheon, Hero of Akrios, do you think that the price will go up or down, I want to sell it some time. This isn't very important but I would like to hear some opinions.

Seeing as everything its super hyped right now, as per usual with a brand new set that's barely been out for twenty-four hours, the price is hyper inflated. Drop that sucker for some cash is my vote.

I'd hold for now. If it ends up making it big in some format other than Standard, then I'd sell. It's just too up in the air for now.

As some who held onto his Sarkhan waiting for it to go above $40, sell now. NOW.

Yes sell now for highest value. High demand and low supply.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird but Sarkhan is a 5 mana investment that is way too slow in any format other than EDH and maybe Standard. Kytheon, on the other hand, is a 1-drop whose flip condition is easy and whose PW abilities are relevant cross-format. that's why I advised to hold.

then again, I'm normally wrong on speculations. I mean, I thought Gray Merchant of Asphodel was going to be absolutely bonkers due to it being the linchpin of MBD, and it never went above $.25

But Gary is a common that was printed in 2 sets, the supply easily outweighs the demand. Kytheon is a mythic, so there were far fewer printed.

I'm talking about when Theros had just come out and MBD was starting to take off. C14 hadn't come out at that point, so it was still just Theros in supply. You are correct about Kytheon being mythic vs Gary being a common though. That has a lot to do with it.

Sell now. The TO community's pretty confident that he's not going to be entering the eternal formats in any meaningful fashion based off of what I've been reading here. It's likely that it won't go up past what it is now.

Sell. He's not gonna rise much higher anyways if he rises at all. This is basically his peak in price, and as said before -- high demand, low supply.

magiceli I pulled a foil promo of Surrak Dragonclaw at the midnight release. Wish I would have done that, 70 for that card is insane.

I mean, Surrak isn't useless. I've seen him in the sideboard of RUG Scapeshift modern decks. People take out their removal, scapeshift sides him in, and they've got a three turn clock.
