I did some juggling of information to get a list of every legendary creature and have it as a deck on here. This list includes 19 cards that he doesn't have (probably all flip cards that he said he wasn't including) but I am done manipulating the information.
All Legendary creatures ever is the list and the deck price is $3209 (19 aren't included in the price, maybe its the same 19). Even with $500 for the time to curate the collection that is only around $3700. I'm not sure how the estimated pricing works on here, but if it uses TCG Mid then you can probably get each creature NM, if not then adding another 1K for near mint copies still only puts it at $4700 and it seems a bit overpriced at $5k to me.

Totally agree with Gidgetimer
$5k Is very overpriced. That's paying retail price for each card in its prime print plus some. Buying collections usually I pay 50% of retail or less. I also do not factor in cards worth less than $1 when buying a collection of this size which the seller has in abundance. If they want prime value for each card then sell it card by card.
That being said the collection is cool just not worth nearly that much.

ChiefBell gives my opinion right there too. Take that money, and buy the ones you want. Then you will have $4900 left over to buy some great staples, and build some very strong decks. You could build a 5 color EDH deck fetched/shocked/tutored out with that.
