Is this a fair trade?

Ok so my friend pulled my favourite card out of a pack (Jace, Architect of Thought ) and I offered him my FOIL Vraska the Unseen and he said it wasn't fair for him, so I offered it with a Ragemonger and he still said no even though he hates playing blue. In the end of it was: 1x foil Vraska the Unseen , 2x Ragemonger and 4x Golgari Decoy for 1 Jace, Architect of Thought :\

Using TCG Mid prices the Foil Vraska the Unseen is about 8 dollars more. That being said, a card is worth however much someone is willing to pay (Trade) for it.

To answer the question, in monetary value no it was not a fair trade.

Was the Vraska a pack foil or from the Duel Decks? If it was from the Duel Decks, then the monetary value is fairly close going by TCG Mid prices.

If it was a pack foil, it was a pretty uneven trade, but as almerican said, when it comes to trading a card is worth however much someone is willing to pay/trade for it.

well the foil vraska is worth more than JAOT, but you were willing to trade that and throw in an extra card, and then even more extra. And its important to note those extras are jsut commons/uncommons, which aren't actually worth anything.

You tilted and your friend took advantage. Here is a tip, always be willing to walk away from a trade, even if your getting a golden goose and giving up garbage to get it. if you are to anxious or too committed people will dig in and ask the world

Both of those cards vraska and Jace, architect of thought have been falling in value. If these with the dual deck versions they are worth even less. The extra comments and uncommons you mentioned can be found in most shops common and uncommon box for five cents, so they didn't improve the trade unless your friend really needed those cards. If you ever have a question about the value of a card and question the trade being made you can look them up on TCG player or eBay or Star city games. Always keep in mind multiple bad trades equals an empty binder.

Jace is still strictly better than all of those cards. The only thing of worth that you offered was foil Vraska, but even then she is a much lesser planeswalker and will never be anything close to what that Jace is. Like I said everything else you threw in would be considered worthless junk to anyone not specifically looking for Ragemonger s. Money wise you might have had a fair economic trade, but Jace tends to hold more sentimental and competitive value than just straight up dollars.
