Is this just stupid?

I had an entire rock deck, fully constructed, and then some. Sold the entire deck and got 1500$ to put towards a car. But it is simply killing me now. That was the best deck I will ever own, and I really want to rebuild it. But with everything in the deck being WAY more expensive this time around, it seems dumb to attempt.

Basically what Im wondering is what will happen to the price of staple cards in rock deck after the modern season is over? Should I just give up on rebuilding the deck? Is anyone else in a similar predicament?

Anyways, tell me what you think, and thanks for looking.

lol I read u sold ur deck and was like damn, Wish I coulda bought his goyfs. Now u can buy Bob & Goyf alone for what u could get the whole deck for last year.

lol do what I do, grow green stuff, use the excess to buy a car or more magic cards. 2 months away from harvest, can't wait till I can buy full goyf playset. lol even thinking about blowing 400$ on a foil one.

Did u get rid of that foil Lilly too?

Prices are on a downward trend but are still way higher. :/

I've built hella other decks, but nothing can handle everything the way Rock can.

... Rough go man, But you got nuts and priorities straight. So that's good.

Now just slowly rebuild and piece it together before legacy absorbs it lol.

But honestly, Good job man, Not many hardcore players could do that and they'd just be stuck with an amazing deck and no wheels.

To me that's the right thing to do. Life priorities over MTG. You can always enjoy yourself a good break once in a while. This opens you up to another shot at a different deck, too.

As a teenager, go you. I'd rather have my own car than a bunch of cardboard to be honest. The cards will only go up in price, after seeing a dip after Modern season ends.

I went through the same thing. Sold my Bant deck for about $1000+ when it was cheap. When the banning list came out, the deck price soared to $2000. Just the idea of what the deck was like, check the deck below. I ran the exact list, but without the tarmagoyf. I sold the deck, took the cash on a holiday, fund my other sporting equipments and also partially as expenses for my studies. The rest of the money went into my EDH and another deck, which I'm running right now.

I don't regret selling the deck for the stuff I did, I thought it was a good choice then, but at times I cannot help but to just want to have it back. I'm now contemplating to save up and build that deck back in foil or to just netdeck a pod deck.

Yeah Im glad I sold it, now im not stuck in the woods all the time now. But APPLE01DOJ said it right, no deck can handle it all like the rock.

I held onto my playset of Lilis though, one of which is foil. I just know that card has only begun to go up in price. Im just going to slowly rebuild the deck. Slowly. Obliterators are killing me, I payed 12 a piece the first time, and theyre 30 now.

Imagine bant; I need4x Noble Hierarch 4 Tarmogoyf 4 Geist of Saint Traft 4 Misty Rainforest

All these cards went up by a lot. Now to get them back will cost me more than what I sold for

I got 2x Obliterator up for trade. A lot of people have shown intrest but no one has offered a solid trade for them.

A car, when you have no car, is always going to be one of the bests investments for your quality of life that you can possibly make. If you take care of the car you'll learn a whole lot, and it will serve you for life. It also enables dates, which are important for all men

So good on ya man. You did the right thing. If they're really worth it to you, the cards will find their way back to you over time.

You know what the only thing better than having a car is? Living somewhere where you don't need one.

But yeah, you'd need to have a legacy deck to have something worth a house in a major city. ;)

lolz @Named_Tawyny

Even in a not major city it can get crazy expensive to be in walking distance of everything. I live in a smallish college town and the rent for apartments near the town square are literally quadruple the cost where I live 2-3 miles away.
