in terms of value, where do japanese card land when it comes to effecting value? I know some languages are more rare than others just not sure what the order of rarity really is.

I'm not sure the cost of foreign lands but I believe Russian and Korean are the most expensive of the bunch and that Japanese follow suit shortly after.

It depends on the card. There's no set percent increase for any given language.

Japanese cards do command the third highest premium after Korean and Russian.

here is an article from way back in 2011, that goes over the more sought after languages Korean, Russian, Japanese, and Russian and some example modifiers , just keep in mind this is an old article and its not always exact this equals this in ~ language.

It's a Temple of Malice .. I was going to use it in an EDH deck so I don't mind that it's foreign. I know being foreign doesn't guarantee a big price spike, that's why I was curious about where Japanese cards fall in terms of foreign rarity. Which you both have answered. I just figured if Japanese cards were one of the most common then I wouldn't really need to factor it being foreign into it's value.

Also, I just noticed i repeated myself in my question. What I meant was "where do Japanese cards land when it comes to foreign rarity". I must have been looking back at what I had typed and repeated it.

You only really start to see the price difference when you get to foils. Nonfoil foreigns might cost only $1-5 more for sub-$50 cards.

Well it's going for about the same price retail of an English one. I know if I search around I can find an English version for less than market value, so I was just trying to figure out if being foreign would make it worth paying closer to retail. It's not a necessity to have a Japanese version so I don't mind just waiting till I find an English one a little cheaper, but I also don't mind paying just a little extra for a card if it's gonna hold a little more value because it's foreign. The way I see it, down the road when it's not being used by me anymore it'll have more trade value. I know people around here like having foreign cards. Some just like foreign cards and others like them in their EDH decks.
