Journey to Nyx preorder speculation thread

Now that Journey to Nyx is starting to be spoiled, it's time to start speculating on the next hot cards to pre-order. Post your thoughts here and why.
The gods because they were before and probably will be again. The boros one looks impressive as a fantastic finisher (which is just what you want as a T4/T5 play in aggro) and the izzet one looks really fun.
Also isn't there like a vintage or modern deck that basically only plays enchantments? Or am I getting confused with artifacts. If so Eidolon of Blossoms could be fantastic. Although at 4 mana, maybe not the best.
Dictate of Kruphix seems good enough. I think that'll be a solid card. Will it see play in control decks? Maybe. Because it has Flash, you can play it in the opponents turn which means it doesn't slow you down. And generally control can do more with its cards than most other decks because counterspells are typically 2 mana, so they should be ok with giving the opponent cards too.
I'm not impressed with the board clear - it's lame.

Though, the usefulness of it in constructed depends on what the god kruphix can do, in the book he has an ability called 'the silence' which basically locks all the gods in nyx. He could potentially shut down this mechanic.

ChiefBell there is an enchantress deck in legacy and there is a janky mono-white modern deck that runs a lot of enchantments. Enchantress is well known but not really tier 1 and the modern deck is new and just jank.

The new enchantress is four mana. I doubt it's going to be worthwhile. Outside of Plea for Guidance we're not seeing much, if any, tutor for your enchantments. I doubt she'll be strong enough to make enchantress worthwhile in standard.
Iroas seems pretty good to me, especially over Keranos. Keranos seems overcosted for where he wants to see play. WBR Minotaurs COULD potentially come into play now.
Personally, I find the best card spoiled so far to actually be Godsend. It's not situational enough to be worthless without an opposing God on the field and it's cheap. This one is a no brainer for me.

Although it's not THAT cheap, considering you want it in a creature deck, it effectively dies to Revoke Existence or Doom Blade and only does something if the opponent lets it do something.....

I'm looking hard at:
Dictate of the Twin Gods
3RR
Enchantment
Flash
If a source would deal damage to a permanent or player, it deals double that damage to that permanent or player instead.
Yes, at 5 CMC that's high, but this is the amplifier Mr. Boros Reckoner has been looking for:
- Anger of the Gods
: all creatures take 6, and since Boros Reckoner
just took 6, you take 12. I used to love the Boros Reckoner
/Blasphemous Act
combo, this new one is great!
- Searing Blood
your reckoner: he takes 4, which in turn deals 8 to your opponents face... oh yeah take another 6 from Searing Blood
.
- Fated Conflagration
your reckoner for 10, take 20 damage.
- Good old Lightning Strike the reckoner for 6, take 12. And if you're holding that Boros Charm take 8 more.
Let's not forget Satyr Firedancer
: burn and clear the field. Hell even Izzet Staticaster
will no longer need Gorgon's Head
to be able to kill most of the aggro creatures out there now.
Yes... I like the possibilities with DotTG.
Next:
Godsend
1WW
Legendary Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +3/+3
Whenever equipped creature blocks or is blocked by one or more creatures you may exile one of them. Your opponents can't cast cards with the same name of a card exiled by godsend.
Equip 3
maybe too slow, but this just seems like the lightsaber that Fiendslayer Paladin was looking for.
Lastly:
Keranos, God of Storms
3UR
Legendary Enchantment Creature - God
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to blue and red is less than seven, Keranos isn't a creature.
Reveal the first card you draw on each of your turns. Whenever you reveal a land card this way draw a card. Whenever you reveal a nonland card this way, Keranos deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
Can this be worked into a RUG burn deck with ramp? I don't know but the possibilities are exciting.
I'm liking what I've seen so far.

Most of what I've seen about Keranos leads people to believe that if he does see play, it'll be in either Grixis or American control decks. Being able to draw card advantage like that in control is pretty well what the doctor ordered. The only problem then being making sure he's actually worthwhile and playing enough devotion to make him a body without taking away from being a control deck.

Dictate of Kruphix looks like the only card that could go up in value spoiled so far.

Yikes, is Godsend really worth a preorder of over $10 per card in a playset?

Im thinking Keranos would be best in a grixis control deck. he provides incremental card advantage and removal/burn. paired with Mogis, God of Slaughter , I think he would be a beast. as far as devotion goes, cards like Omenspeaker would be great toset up your draw.Frostburn Weird is a good wall for agro matchups and provides devotion to both gods. if you don't use many counterspells, Chandra, Pyromaster would be great as well. of course, having scry in the deck would be very important to make sure you are getting what you need from keranos.

bigpappyj, I'm already seeing eBay bids are ~$60 for a playset.

Apoptosis - That seems a bit high to me but maybe I'm not thinking the strategy through. We'll see how it pans out, I guess.

Dakra Mystic is awesome. If only it was just tap her, not one blue, and tap.

@apoptosis You may want to read Searing Blood more closely. You take the 6 not him because you control the Boros Reckoner . I'm not sure how Satyr Firedancer will work with it. Does it deal even more to the creature? Or same amount? Really not sure.
Lightning Strike them for 6, does their creature get hit for 12 or 6? And where's our Stuffy Doll when we need him!!!!!

One thing I know for sure, burns decks are gonna be stronger with this set. Question is how strong.
April 8, 2014 1:27 p.m.
@unholycookies good catch about Searing Blood , Caraculiambro also pointed that out to me in another thread (I was a bit excited as I was writing that all out). If you hit your own Boros Reckoner you would deal 4 damage to the reckoner, who in turn would deal 8 damage at target creature/player and you would take 6 damage from the Searing Blood , works as a finisher I suppose.
If you have Satyr Firedancer in play and cast Searing Blood at a creature, that creature will take 4 damage and the controller of that creature will take 6 (assuming the creature dies), which in turn will trigger Satyr Firedancer who in turn will deal 12 damage to target creature that player controls (if only he read "any creature" you could target your own reckoner and then hit your opponent for 24 -oh well, can't have everything I guess). In your example with a Lightning Strike , their creature would take 12.
btw Rayenous pointed out that with DotTG in play and Boros Reckoner all you need to do is ping the reckoner and cast Boros Charm , at which point you can redirect the damage back to the reckoner infinite times, and then deal infinite damage to target opponent. That makes my inner Johnny drool.
It remains to be seen how competitive the build will be, but all I know for sure is that reckoner/burn will be fun.

I'm liking this constellation mechanic, I'm thinking those with it might be good to pre-order. For example the new enchantress.
