Hey guys,
the Unlimited Edition is very interesting imo. Althought this is a very very Old School Edition, cards are worth less than such from the Alpha and Beta Editions. Why is this so? And do you think the value of cards from this Edition will increase?

Black border vs. White border is also part of it. I tend to compare cards, when possible, against Revised for this reason.

Specifically, the Alpha, Beta and Unlimited printing were extremely small compared to all core sets since. According to WoTC, Alpha included a total of approximately 2.6 million cards printed, Beta included approximately 7.3 million cards, and Unlimited included approximately 35 million cards (and all in English language only for all three sets), while the Revised edition included approximately 500 million cards printed in English, French, German and Italian languages. Black borders are definitely a part of it as well, as Unlimited rares have significantly fewer printed cards available than even Revised black-bordered foreign language rares, which are more common than the white-bordered foreign versions, despite the price disparity.
On interesting fact from a collectible standpoint is that Volcanic Island was not included in the Alpha release, making the Beta version the only back bordered option for that dual, which also impacts it's value for Unlimited versions, as it is essentially the most "rare" of all the dual lands due to being excluded from Alpha.
I'd imagine that Unlimited rares, especially the most valuable/playable, will continue to increase in future value due to their actual scarcity.

Azdranax wow amazing Thank you very much for these hard facts! Few months ago I bought a playset of Natural Selection from the Unlimited Edition. Today I saw, that its value has increased, what makes me happy of course. :)
