So, a friend of mine needs some for his deck, so I decided to see how much they were since he has no M14 bulk. $1?!? That's not a lot of $, but a dollar for a core set common that isn't even too great? Anyone want to enlighten me on Shadowborn Apostle ?

The only thing I can think is going back to supply vs demand. The card isn't bonkers, but it's casually appealing. And any deck running them is probably going to want like twenty.

spot on. casual appeal and the decks that want them want 20+.

same reason Relentless Rats is a $2+ uncommon.

It is a fun casual thing with Immortal Servitude and whatever demons you have lying around.
