Liliana of the Veil Price Jump

Economics forum

Posted on Feb. 28, 2014, 11 a.m. by nurzaani

I noticed that according to SCG prices last I checked, Liliana of the Veil was only about $40, And before I go into why I dn't use other sites is because SCG is the only site I'm sure of that Won't have these high-quality counterfeit cards that have been circulating.

But Liliana has jumped up to about $80, can anybody explain to me why this is?

I also Noticed that Snapcaster Mage went from a $20 card to a $40 card on SCG.

Are these seeing a lot more play in legacy and Modern now than they already were a couple months ago?

Do we see him going up some post rotation?

It's pretty exciting isn't it!

Deathrite Shaman will not lose all of his value. And yes he will probably go up some after rotation. I'm going to hold onto mine in hopes of a Bitterblossom repeat where they unban him in a few years and he's suddenly worth $80 :-)

Wow twin went UP! $20 card... For DRS, I'll probably end up picking one or two up post-rotation for a long-term speculation target. Not really surprised about Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir , and I wonder why more control decks don't play him. Its just a good card.

cschiller he's been a one of in the sideboard for u/w/x for a while now. It's used in the mirror matches. But he was never high profile. I'm glad I got mine for 6$ for commander a few months ago.

Heh, it was bad enough to drop an Epoch ban-hammer, which was pretty bad.

@actiontech, i read it and it was pretty bad (though very funny to watch!). I like reading what you said in response and just making up the worst that you can, like madlibs!

I've only seen it happen once before, because the guy was just a dick in general. It took a few weeks though, he did a good job of pushing the envelope but not going to far. Until he went too far. This guy clearly doesn't know how to troll successfully.

I was watching, and I'm still not 100% sure it was real. Read a lot like someone else got on the account and decided to be a jackass. He just went from 0 to raving lunatic way too fast.

I stand by my description from earlier. Tail end of a redbull + Ritalin binge. Coming from that stuff causes some mood swings.

Anyone have a transcript on what happened? This is no fun in the dark.

actiontech says... #16

I didn't screenshot it, but basically my first comment about SCG being overpriced flipped a switch in that guy and he said something like "You go be a dumbass and buy possibly counterfeit cards then" which led to my terse reply about wearing my dumbass label proudly. Then he went waaaayyyy off the deep end with torture murder die and a lot of F bombs. Then I said have a nice day, he said go kill yourself. Then Titans called our Epoch and started getting the same treatment from our new friend. That's about it really, just very colorful F-you go die in this or that fashion type of stuff.

I am sorry that you were abused so, just wish I could have been there to watch it.

Thank you for the recap.

Eh, like I said on page 1 - I'm a grown man Internet children don't really offend me any more. It was pretty entertaining really.

What actiontech said, it was an entertaining show. It made the movie that my mom was forcing me to watch a bit more bearable.

People seem to be more grouchy and irritable today than usual, or is it just me?

February 28, 2014 5:39 p.m.

megawurmple says... #21

I think actiontech summed that up pretty well. He (actiontech) stated his opinion that he'd rather pay less money for the same thing if he had the option (a wise opinion). The other guy basically called him a dumbass for liking money, and he replied that if that was the case, he'd happily be branded a dumbass. The other guy told him to go get dismembered and die, then I called Epoch, because I didn't really want this guy in the community given that he's a dick. The guy then went ape-shit at me too, telling me to go die a horrible death of some description. I (and others) laughed at him, and he went even more ape-shit. That's about it.

@blackmarker90, where i am in southern california, it is raining. That is reason enough to be grouchy. No but seriously, i have been grouchy, other people have been grouchy. Maybe we should all just take a big breath, the entire community at once.

I find most people here to either be adults, or act like them well enough.

There will be a turd in the punch bowl every now and again. It is easy to get carried away on the internet if you had a bad day, or are just an unpleasant person.

I am happy though, just sent out my trade to get my final eldrazi. Now all I need is All Is Dust and I will have all the spells too.

People more upset than usual? Raining in southern California? Are the stars aligned or something?

February 28, 2014 5:45 p.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #25

Man, its raining like crazy out here. Relatively of course. We might even get thunder though, so its a rare occurrence. Of course, all SoCal drivers turn into monkeys. You thought it was bad when it snowed in Atlanta. At least they weren't able to move. Out here everyone just crashes

Do they cancel schools on account of rain?

February 28, 2014 8:02 p.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #27

Haha no but they cancel Physical Education. I'm past that now, but I remember that that was always a highlight for all of us. "You mean we get to watch Rudy AGAIN!?"

February 28, 2014 8:11 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #28

Well, at least you don't have 2-4 feet of snow constantly on the ground. i don't think I've had a full week of school since the beginning of February.

miracleHat says... #31

@Dalektable, look at comment 5 and 10 on second page. Unforgivn_II, are you one of those people who follow the unspoken law of socal, "if it is raining, stay indoors and don't do anything"? Anyways, around where are you? It would be cool to meet up if we are close enough to each other!

February 28, 2014 8:48 p.m.

Unforgivn_II says... #32

@Droxium - I do stay inside mostly. I like the rain, I have no issues going places when its raining. But you won't see me spending much time outside when its raining. And I live in Fountain Valley, right next to Huntington Beach.
