Looking for help/advice on trading cards on Tapped Out.

Economics forum

I am fairly new both to MTG and this site but I am interested in the trading feature this site. I am wondering how the trading works. Specifically:shipping: I am in Canada will this make a difference? Who pays for shipping or is it just each participant in the trade pays for what they are shipping?packaging: top loaders and bubble wrap? bubble envelopes?trade only vs. selling: are there rules regarding selling cards here?Trade binder: as I understand it both what I have and what I am looking for can get listed here?

I appreciate any help/advice available. Thanks!

Normally I'd move this to the TappedOut forum, but I'll leave it in Economics because the discussion can address online trading in general.

I have a trading article on my profile page. Read that first.

Basically, users who are interested in trading can post the cards they have and/or want in their trade binders, and they can look at others' binders to propose trades. If you're interested in trading with someone, post on their binder with an offer or a general interest statement. Work the trade details out however you like.

TappedOut facilitates trades only insofar as it provides a trade interface and a way for users to communicate. We don't regulate trades between users.

Normally, I advise shipping via bubble mailer with tracking and toploaders. I don't recommend PWE (plain white envelope) unless you insert a rigid cardboard backing to prevent the sorting machines from tearing up the packaging.

Normally, each user pays shipping to send his or her own cards out to the other individual. That's the general assumption, and you'll need to specify if you want to do something else. Because you're shipping from Canada, postage rates may be slightly higher. Also, any non-envelope packages (e.g. bubble mailers, boxes, etc.) will need to go through customs, so you're going to have to fill out customs forms for international trades.

You can sell cards on TappedOut, but most users tend to want to trade.

If you have any further questions after reading my article, let me know. I'll be happy to help.
