Recently I have begun to take an interest in collecting planeswalkers. I was just wondering how much you guys thought the new ones would cost because I don't have a ton of money. And i am only collecting the ones starting in M15. It is to expensive to try and catch up with the previous sets.
I am guessing chandra will be at like 10. Same with Jace. Nissa will be at 15 same with liliana. Garruk will be at 20. Ajani will be at 20 also?

Nissa was not killed, just shunned by Sorin on Zendikar because she is a huge twat in the storyline of Zendikar.

Looking at TCGPlayer they have (for preorders) Ajani at $16, Chandra $5, and Liliana is hovering around $7 for her most recent printing. I could see Jace being in the $10-20 range and I'd put Nissa and Garruk going upwards of $30 during preorders seeing how JACKED Green is for this set.

Currently SCG has
Chandra, Pyromaster for $8
Liliana Vess for $8
New ajani for 20
New jace for 20
New nissa for 25
And they haven't released a pre-order price for garruk

I think jace will start high due to demand, drop because people think he is bad, then rise again when people figure out that he is good. he will settle around 15 I think. this is chandras second printing, so she will be quite low. lili will probably stay where she is now. I imagine nissa will be around 20, Ajani around 15, and garruk around 20

Garruk I think would be around 30-35 bucks. Nissa possibly 25-30 bucks, and Jace about 20. This is what I personally think of course, and I could be wrong.

I'm sure Garruk, Jace, and Nissa will be initially anywhere from $20 (most likely Jace) to $30-35 (other two) for hype and pre-release demand and speculation. Where they'll go from there nobody knows.

I don't expect Garruk or Nissa to be at 30. You guys are going on preorder prices. That's bad. Those prices are higher because of hype. Once people play them, they won't be worth as much (especially Garruk). Nissa will be a bit though. Look at it this way: Elspeth is 28 on SCG. That's the best walker in standard and she's not even 30 yet.

Also look at this: 6 months ago (roughly) Speth was at $18 and Jace AOT was about $25. Anything can happen.

Nah, he's too expensive to see play anywhere outside EDH.

there are some G/b devotion lists out there. Garruk and nissa could go in there. it would be pretty solid, too

I think the only Modern decks that play cards that have CMCs of 6 or more is Tron. Most G/B decks, like Jund and Rock, will prefer to play Liliana of the Veil , Tarmogoyf , and Scavenging Ooze .

I would suggest Hushwing Gryff , Chief Engineer, and Nissa, Worldwaker . All three have the potential to make splashes in both Standard and Modern.

Yep. Pod in particular might give it some love for the mirror match and Splinter Twin.

From what I am reading on some other MTG forums Garruk will at the very least be Heavily experimented with. His upside is too good to ignore and a lot of people are talking about various ways that he could work.
Some playtesters have him hitting the board turn 5 with relative consistency. I would expect him to spike early while people are all clamoring for him to playtest. If things work out he will hover around 30 bucks. I don't see him getting a lot higher than that only because he isn't blue. Blue players will always find a way to play blue even if it isn't the "strongest" deck in the format.

Garruk is now up to $30 on SCG. . . Kind of wish I would have grabbed one at $20 just in case it doesn't drop my EDH deck wants him.

This may seem dumb but if I am wanting to pick up a few cards in hopes of turning a quick profit such as Chief Engineer , should I purchase now or wait till release? Like I said it would be more or less to turn into quick cash GRANTED if it does see any rise?
Any help would be appreciated!

Honestly, don't buy singles at prerelease. I've come out ahead by immediately dumping all of my prerelease cards once I'm done using them in sealed events. That's for store credit, not to mention. I'd get more if I was trading to players. The fact that I spend ~$60 opening weekend and come out with $80+ in store credit should be telling of just how heavily inflated card prices are.
I doubt we'll see any sleeper cards from M15 until Khans comes out. Really, established archetypes aren't getting anything new. U/W/x Control isn't exactly going to start playing four copies of Chief Engineer to drive up its price. There may be an insane deck that uses Chief Engineer in the fall, but your best bet is just dump everything for hyped-up prices and buy what you need a week or two after release.
You might miss out on a few bucks here and there (for example, when Elspeth, Sun's Champion went from $35 to $40 briefly). $5 is really nothing, though, when you sell your prerelease cards for $80 and spend $40 of that on new stuff later on.
Too long; did not fucking read: don't buy M15 singles prerelease weekend because you might break even at best. At worst, you'll lose money which is probably what's been happening to you. Especially when you're picking up rares or new planeswalkers.

sylvannos You're right. I tend to make a few bad purchases during spoilers but sometimes I can't help myself. Right now I'm fighting the urge to grab 2x Garruk at $21 a pop.
I do tend to do well a couple weeks after release though nabbing up the playable rares when their being undervalued.

I could be stupid and I dont know alot about lore despite how much I love it. I was told Nissa was killed? so Idk how they could reprint her.
