Maralen of the Mornsong, what is causing spikes?

1. Is it a buyout?

2. Maybe it is because of this guy Ob Nixilis, Unshackled

If anyone knows I would interested in hearing the reason. I do like this card for its appeal but makes me wonder if its become competitive.

She was my first commander. It was fun but got old quick. Most of the people in my play group didn't want to play against me because it just wasnt fun

I was also wondering why she suddenly spiked overnight. I've been doing some research to try and answer this and I cant find any reasonable explanation.

@APPLE01DOJ I just came across other mtg players talking about adding it to their death and taxes builds with Leonin Arbiter and Aven Mindcensor . Just thinking it was a buyout tho since yesterday I checked the stores on tcg, star city, amongst many others were sold out. Hmmm just strange is all.

capriom85: Yeah, it's fun to play it against people who have never seen it. It gets old quick though and people learn how to deal with it.

Glad I got a play set already. Still haven't found a good way to use her in modern though. Been tinkering with Golgari elves but nothing ever amounts from it.

WovenNebula I can see her working in D&T. I think she could be good with Ob Nixilis, Unshackled In some unique control build.
