Modern Buy-Out Madness

It seems every other day another staple is on the rise.
I personally don't think this is healthy format.
With all the artificial inflation will there be an eventual bubble pop?
I'd like to know the communities thoughts on this ever increasing possible problem.
I just ran my new Maelstrom Dragon 5 Colour deck that I've been working on, been doing a bit of digital testing with a friend. I think with these last few tweaks, it should work well. That being said, I think there's still some room to explore the overarching concept, so I'm not prepared to post a decklist just then, because I'm changing too much, too often at the moment.
I'm even considering scrapping the whole thing and moving towards a Turn 4 Progenitus or Blightsteel Colossus
Looking at the prices though, it isn't going to be pretty. Despite the fact I'm running an off-meta build, I still need two staple cards, Cavern of Souls and Noble Hierarch (Not because I need exalted, but because next to Birds of Paradise, it was the best 1 Drop acceleration to increase my chances of a better ramp off my opening hand. Every other choice only did Green mana, too limited), so between those 4 cards is still going to set me back $240
The problem is that almost all of the cards that I've chosen are too valuable to not have, meaning I'm going to have to, for now, such it up and pay for those cards.

Grrr...the buyout craziness is just mind-blowing and frustrating. The format is just rough to build in right now if you don't already possess a solid collection of staples. Artificial inflation from large vendors buying playable items out of the market are to blame. I'm sure many people are beginning to ask, "Is it worth it to play this format?" I'm also sure others ask, "Is it worth it to play this game?"

I want to kick start up my new format idea as soon as possible. From M15 onward, called Current. I'll probably start it up the moment M15 gets drop kicked out of rotation from BFZ.

Hmmm. I fear that such a format would quickly devolve into various Siege Rhino decks.

Not really, JakeHarlow. It would probably start into various Abzan decks (or Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor, decks, but then it would evolve away from it.
A format that starts with five sets and will double within its first year, has lots of room to grow.

We figured out how to get a Progenitus out on turn 3
Turn 1:Shock/Fetch/Multicolor land + Birds of Paradise
Turn 2:Explore + 2x Shock/Fetch/Multicolor land + Sylvan Caryatid
Turns 3:Maelstrom Archangel + Mass Hysteria. Attack, plus Progenitus
Or, something like Blightsteel Colossus if you prefer

Which is beside the point, because for as cool as that is:
Progenitus is $12, you'd need 4
Maelstrom Archangel is $11, you'd need 4
I get the feeling this is more common than I think based on those prices. Even then, doesn't solve the problem of modern being expensive. Maybe the format is a little too old and it's time for a Modern 2.0

@Baix in that type of ramp build you could run Tooth and Nail as an insurance policy.

WovenNebula I think I need like, one more ramp spell that isn't Explore or Farseek, or a creature generates mana while maintaining a good defence like Sylvan Caryatid, for 2 mana

@Baix you could use Utopia Sprawl, that may be of good use to accelerate the deck.

Your idea doesn't work anyway because Maelstrom Archangel has summoning sickness. I forget the details but I believe mono green tron can T3 those fatties with Elvish Piper Lotus Bloom and Hall of the Bandit Lord

APPLE01DOJ Read it again. You play a land on turn 3, then you play Maelstrom Archangel + Mass Hysteria , meaning the Angel has Haste. It can attack, drop Progenitus

Innovation on a budget but yet effective is hard to come by. My innovated decks cost around $600-$900. Lowest I've gotten so far is $600 flat with my Path to Perfection deck, which went down $100 from the past few months.
