MTG Bargains on Ebay

I have absolutely no experience with ebay, so I'm a little intimidated by the whole thing, but I feel like thats the place to go to find really expensive cards at a bargain rate if your smart about it. Like I mean I'd do some pretty terrible things if it meant I got a judge foil Hanna, Ship's Navigator, just because the art is friggin gorgeous, but she's like $100. On ebay shes got one up for like $40, which if you can swindle it, would be a steal. Has anyone had any major successes or failures using ebay to acquire cards?

Just cause:

I've got tons of good deals. I've also had a few instances of a seller not sending the card because of whatever reason when preordering. Nissa, Worldwaker and Garruk, Apex Predator were really difficult to obtain thru ebay. I had to repurchase both.

I picked up a MMA Tarmogoyf a little while ago for 160 buy it now. I know they're lower currently if u r patient but I felt that was a good deal.

eBay is good, but remember these two things:

1) ALWAYS check the description of the item. If it is vague, not exactly what you wanted, or says "cards selection may vary" or something to that effect DO NOT buy it.

2) if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Bought three of those repacks on a whim to draft with, and I ended up with a Snapcaster Mage, a Nightveil Specter, and an Obstinate Baloth as my rares, with at least $10 worth of uncommons from scars and innistrad block as well. Seemed pretty worth it for the $15 I paid.

I ended up getting a play set of Snapcaster Mage on ebay for 75 (granted, that was before the price spike). the best deal I ever got was a Russian altered Cryptic Command from lorwyn for $45. I ended up using it for about 3 months, then sold it for 75

Just last week I sniped a bunch of auctions and now have a $130 deck arriving soon for just under $60. And that was with 4 Courser of Kruphix.

Jesus. Do they allow credit/debit cards or is it all though PayPal?

Paypal is just a third party credit/debit card processor.

Yea I just never really trusted PayPal

November 23, 2014 4:19 p.m.

Well I know it's a third party but do they make you do all your transactions through PayPal or can you pay directly?

I don't think you HAVE to use paypal, but i do. It's easier. But i think otherwise you use your card to their paypal account.

I haven't got any insane deals, but I recently bought 2x Temple of Enlightenment for a total of $5.25 (including shipping). Ebay is my favorite place to buy cards; if you're persistent enough, you can usually get a good deal.
