What's going to happen to the price of Mutavault in future? Will it go up or down, or will it simply stay the same? I want to know whether or not I should invest now.
Thanks for your help.

Until a new deck archetype or rotation happens I don't see a price drop til either of those happen but when it does happen I don't see it higher than 20.00 after it rotates for a while.

It was 30$ out of rotation before m14 came out so It will probably go back in that range. It sees so much play out of standard that it's a good card to have, luckily I got a playset for legacy merfolk before they shot to 40$

Ive beem turning mine into foils thanks to the price spike on nonfoil, but I dont see this card ever below $20 on scg again, maybe post rotation tbat standard only crowd will dump them and tcg will drop below $20, but in time deffinetly back towards $30

It won't go anywhere but up in price after it rotates out of Standard. Modern is growing in popularity, and Mutavault is always going to be a Modern staple. Recently it seems like Modern has almost as much influence on card prices as Standard.

So do you guys reckon it's worth buying them now?

Also, is it worth buying foils? Will people trade for foils at all?
January 30, 2014 11:26 a.m.
foils have stayed pretty steady so im getting them for personal use while the nonfoil price is so inflated, post rotation i think theyll go up about the same rate, while standard foils dont tend to be a HUGE demand since eventually they rotate (ie foil lily vs foil Jace AoT/Elspeth/etc)

I wouldn't say it's worth buying them now, but it is worth trading for them now. It's always a good idea to trade Standard-legal stuff that will go down in price once it rotates for Standard-legal stuff that won't go down in price. In a year or so Thassa, God of the Sea will probably be worth $5 tops. If you can trade them now for Mutavault , you're getting the better end of the deal.

The problem is that I don't deal in Standard cards. I'm a Modern player, through and through. With that in mind, is it a good idea to grab a couple of Mutavault now before they increase further in price?

I don't think they're going to go up in price a lot just yet. When (if?) the fetchlands are reprinted after M15, Modern will get even more popular and the price could rise a lot. That's just speculation though.
When they're about to rotate out of Standard you're going to see a bunch of non-Modern players trying to trade them away. At that point the price could either go up or down depending on lots of factors.
It's never going to be a bad investment to buy a Mutavault for $30. I just remember back in August when SCG was having their back to school sale, and had them for $12 a piece one day. That was the best time to buy them.

What deck do u plan to use them for? Mutavault is good in a lot of decks but most colors have other options, such as Treetop Village

APPLE01DOJ I use them in an Izzet Tempo deck, so I don't really have any other options.

Treetop Village isn't nearly as good as Mutavault . If you're playing Elves in green, it's usually more beneficial to have a land you can turn into an elf creature vs a land you can turn into an ape creature.
It's the "all creature types" part of Mutavaul that pushes it over the cliff.

I think the only way to justify buying Mutavault right now is if it's for a tier 1 deck that you plan on winning tourneys with to make that money back.

What about if I manage to find 2 foil Mutavault for $82? Does that change anything? I'd say that's a pretty solid deal given that foils go for $75.

Actually, just ignore that statement. I was looking somewhere very expensive clearly.

TitansFTW are they from Morningtide or M14? For M14, that price is pretty average. For Morningtide that price is great.

M14. I realised that after I posted about the awesome price I found on Mutavault . What is the price difference between Morningtide and M14, for both foil and non foil?

SharuumNyan says... #22
Yeah, the Morningtide ones are worth quite a bit more for foil and non foil. SCG currently has foil Morningtide ones listed at $99.

@SharuumNyan: I highly doubt fetches will be reprinted in M15. WOTC will likely wait until the shocks have left Standard before they reintroduce fetches to the Standard land lineup.

It's been pretty steadily climbing this Standard season. I don't see it dropping until rotation, but not sure after that.
Also, I'm horrible at guessing card prices :P It's why I only trade for what I need.
