So I have a playset of foil Thoughtseize from theros and a foil M14 Mutavault (looking for one more if anybody has one) and I am just wondering what y'all think they might do after each rotates? Personally, I think they'll dip a little and then rise to a liiiittle higher than where they each are now but I also thought that Thundermaw Hellkite would end up about $10 more than what it is now too so my judgement isn't always that great... Also, what about foil rtr Blood Crypt , think those have a chance of jumping anytime after they rotate? Thanks for any input :)

mutavault, thoughtseize and shocklands will dip but steadily build back up. I wouldnt epect any wild jumps though.

It really is a long term investment.

foil shocks will be alright, blood crypt however will not be the best performing imo, unlike steam vents, which is the highest priced last i checked, being the most played shock in modern. other good ones would be your temple garden and overgrown tombs, but i still feel long term all will be good.

foil thoughtseize has a much bigger market, but also plenty of time till rotation, it will be around the price area it is now i would imagine but then increase post rotation, but is also that akward spot of when going pimp, usually the original is the pimper version for legacy, but long term, i dont see it going anywere but up. mutavault however i think will dip, the demand isnt there, and yes it was expensive pre reprint but i still think it will tank some, probably around the $30/$40 foil range for awhile with so few decks running it. long term may creep up again but not nearly at the rate shocks or thoughtseize would.

I know what you mean about Mutavault not really being in demand, I run 2 in my knight deck brutally stabbed to death and need one more foil... guess I might wait til it rotates to see if I can get it cheaper. I've already got the Thoughtseize s and Blood Crypt s that I need but ultimately want the original foil prints, that's just A LOT of cash.

I am pretty sure Mutavault is just going to dip. nearly all of its demand is in standard. very few modern decks play it. the rest of your predictions are probably accurate

Legacy merfolk run 4 copies of Mutavault , and in modern it's played in merfolk as well as faeries, and here and there in hatebears. It's a solid long-term hold, but yes it will definitely take a hit when it rotates. I'm unloading my non-foils, but keeping the playset of foils for those legacy players that want to (and have the money to) pimp out their decks.

I wouldn't worry about Thoughtseize until next year about this time.

actiontech I'd be interested in one of them, sounds like youre trying to sell them?

I said I'd like to unload the two that aren't foil, but it sounds like you're looking for a foil one =) I guess it sounded like I was ready to sell them now but I meant in a few years when the supplies diminish and the player base increases.
