Mutavault keeps going up.

Currently $23.99 TCG median. Where's it gonna stop? I mean, it seems silly to buy them at this price but if it's going to hit $35 then maybe it makes sense. I don't think this is another Master of Waves type of value bubble as Mutavault is played across formats and in a ton of decks. Any input out there from the market experts?
The cross-format playability here is a big reason that it will be a steady money card, but the fact that Mutavault is a big part of the current MONOBLUE monster comprising almost 50%+ of all recent top 8 lists is more likely the culprit for the inflation of the M14 version's price. No one is opening M14, as gufymike pointed out, so they are being purchased as singles more and more driving demand up. I say hold off because MONOBLUE may not survive what hits in Born of the Gods and that will drive prices down. If you want 'em to play MONOBLUE, you'll have to bite the bullet now. If you just want them, wait. If you want them for resale value, I think you missed the train on this one.

capriom85, mono-Black runs it also as a 4, r/b does in a lot of cases. Early jund did too (standard jund). It's in more decks than just mono-b in standard.

It's in a ton of decks, standard and otherwise. I have a playset +1, I was just curious if now was a good time to trade away the 1 or trade for more, etc.

I think at 26 you should dump. It might hit 30 for a minute around the holidays, xmas gifts, everyone wants mono-U or B... little jimmy/jenna's parents will cave, we know this;. But should go back to around 20 or so after and lets see what bng brings us. Oh and get eternal value for it, not standard stuff, meaning no Elspeth, Sun's Champion or 2-3 Master of Waves (though he sees play in modern merfolk) or similar. Get a fetch like Marsh Flats or something similar in quality like a playset of Splinter Twin and extra's. It's worth the value there.

I did not mean to make it seem like MONOBLUE was the only standard deck running Mutavault . I know it sees a ton of Standrad play guys.

I think it will stabilize soon around $25 or so. Maybe $30. It's a very strong card, and it's played across the three major sanctioned constructed formats. Of course, this means Mutavault will also drop less than other cards when Theros rotates (we still have a while before that happens).
Really, Mutavault 's price will be determined by Standard demand. It may even drop back to $20 or so after supply catches up with demand. It's not wildly unstable, though, because Mutavault is an established staple.

Before it was reprinted, Mutavault was a 40-50$ modern/legacy staple. All the tribal decks run them. I think this version settling around 25-30 for now is about right for the price, since it's in all the decks that run mono and a few running dual colors. I got mine at 15 and under, for the m14 version. Mornintide version being about the same is a bit of a shocker, but honestly, not many people are opening up M14. It was a poor set tbh, only a few oddballs (like myself) enjoyed drafting it. Even then I don't buy packs of m14. So I think it fits for now.
