Urza's Mine just spiked to $18.02. Back in march it spiked to $14 and fell back down just as quickly. In april it did the exact same thing hitting $15. I assume that in 24 hours it will be back to its $2 price tag. 9th edition Urza's Tower has spiked in similar ways.
For comparison, the 8th edition printings (same art on all except mine) have been chilling at $1.80-$2 each.
Usually a buyout would target a card that didn't have 4 other printings. And the buyout, if that is what this is, targets only 9th ed and has only ever targeted 9th ed.
So what the hell is going on?

Definitely a collapse in the MTG market, which will inevitably lead to the downfall of this game, the disintegration of society, and apocalypse as we now know it.

He/she is referring to this printing of the card: http://magiccards.info/9e/en/327.html
The reason why it is so expensive is that it is a different art in 9th edition ONLY for the Urza's Mine. People will be wanting this printing more than the others because of how unique the art actually is, resulting in the sky-rocketing price. Only the mine is this expensive because in 9th edition, the art is different from that of 8th edition, whereas the art for the tower and power plant are similar in 9th as it is in 8th.

That moment when you think your Tron deck has a playset of 9ED Mines and then you check and they're 8ED :(

ducttapedeckbox I'll trade you my playset of 9ED mines for your playset of 8. I hate the 9ed art.
Seriously, as long as the mines don't hold their value over the next 48 hours I'll gladly swap. I don't even play tron, I just don't want the 9ed art.

Haha thanks Serendipitous_Hummingbird, but the only time I want to think about getting new Tron lands is if I find a set of all four arts of the Antiquities printing.
