Pain Lands

So, I got 4 Shivan Reef (2 ORI, 1 ORI foil, and 1 M15), 4 Battlefield Forge (ORI), and 1 Llanowar Wastes (ORI). I see they are on an upward trend since when I paid about a buck a price for them. Should I sell then now, or wait and hope they continue to rise? And for Llanowar Wastes, should I just hold it or sell and pick one up again after rotation?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think they'll rise much. The upward trend is probably people realizing that they may need them in Standard, and I doubt it will bring them above $3-4 a piece. Remember that they've been printed a few times so there's quite a few copies floating around.

Unless you're hellbent on that dollar or two gain and don't actually need them, I would just hold onto them.

EDIT: I could be wrong though!

ducttapedeckbox, yeah, i've seen alot of them around ever since their return in M15, but that's when I sold my first Forge at $8, only to get their reprint spoiled a week later.

Also, I don't think the $1 gain is worth all the hassle. I do have possible decks to run them in, so I might try them out there.

Anyways, how about the foil reef? Is it worth holding?

That did hit $12 before, well at least Battlefield Forge did.

Foil reef is worth holding; I believe it's played in Modern?

I'm not aware of any Modern decks that would use Shivan Reef over Sulfur Falls. Foils are always a funky area of economics as they can really spike after seeing some play. I would use the same logic here: keep it unless you get a great deal for it. No harm in holding onto it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Foil lands are always a hot commodity.
