I'm just getting back into magic and I missed basically all from Khans until now.
In order from what I like to play with; (looking for Modern decks)
Land base .... probably most important
Red .... Burn spells
Black .... Zombies
Rakdos .... deck colours
Green .... Counters and Green mana ramp
Blue .... to complete Izzet decks
what would you think is best to grab 1st? i'm thinking of Conspiracy:Crown or Origins.... Thoughts???

Personally, I wouldn't buy a box at all unless you were going to draft it with friends, the ROI sucks on most of them, so you would be better served buying singles instead, especially when getting back into constructed formats.

It was a pretty random question I know... guess I could have said also that this is the 3rd time getting "back to" Magic... i'm 40 and have a pretty good collection ranging from 1st time with Tempest Block on thru to Urza's .... a little bit of the Timesprial block (mostly Slivers) and 2nd time was from mid-Mirrodin onwards with most of my collection Innistrad, Return/Ravnica and Theros Blocks... I didn't like the Eldrazi with the Zendikar blocks and pretty much ignored them. I left most reciently when Khans block started (went thru a divorce) missed shadow/innistrad and Battle/Zendikar... so I do have a fairly good base already for modern cards and just wondering which box I will buy this weekend... I just miss ripping open a box... I NEED A FIX!!! LOL so where should I start?

In that case, Khans is your best bet. It has the best ROI and fetches are used everywhere.

Conspiracy has sevral modern staples, including Inquisition of Kozilek, Serum Visions and Beast Within. There's also legacy staples, like Show and Tell and Berserk. C2 is an awesome set.

Buying singles will always be the most efficient method of choice, lest you like to play limited formats.

If you are looking modern, neither Conspiracy, nor Orgins is good choice. The latter has no modern staples, while the former is not Modern legal.
Especially for Modern, there is no single box to buy to complete a whole deck. Mdoern has a wide variety of available sets and no competitive deck uses cards from just one.
