With rotation approaching what are some of the modern/casual pick ups to remember to grab at cheap prices.

Not much value in Theros, but I could see the following gain a little value given enough time: Anger of the Gods, Ashen Rider, Athreos, God of Passage, Eidolon of the Great Revel, Mana Confluence, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Whip of Erebos.

Rotation's in six months. Don't worry about it, and just pick up what you need when it's cheaper (not now).

Pick up every copy of Thoughtseize you can before they respike in prices. Once Theros either rotates or leaves print the card will continue to rise before stabilizing in a post-theros world. The card gets played everywhere in modern and maybe some legacy.

I was joking about Charging Badger but hey maybe that's the next Tarmogoyf xD

I've always been confused as to whom is lord of the beasts. Axebane Stag or Charging Badger. just read the flavor texts.

TheDevicer- You think Ashen Rider will gain value over time? How? The only places I can see it are casual and commander.

Ashen Rider is like, a staple in legacy sideboard for the sneak and show matchup. Burn decks run a playset on occasion, as well as many other archetypes.

Yeah, I don't know anything about legacy. Thanks for the clarification.

@bananamaniaman Ashen Rider is used in Legacy as a way to combat Sneak and Show decks. You can exile whatever they Show and Tell in, then even if they remove it you can hit something else. Also even if it rises to $2, you still have made about 50% profit.

Whoops, apparently I should reload my tabs before commenting. Close enough I guess.

How long will it take for Goblin Rabblemaster and other 10-15 dollar cards like him to go down?

Depends how much play they still see.

I know Charging Badger was a joke but I see the potential in him for some great casual decks.

Once rabblemaster rotates he won't be worth more than 5 bucks. I'd pick up coursers, and caryatids if you can get the latter for under 3 each. Thoughtseize is an obvious one, and get as many eidolon of the great revel as you can grab.

I'm also calling Ashiok as a good buy. She/he/zi has seen some fringe play in BUG control in modern.

Ashen Rider's unlikely to sky rocket, but I don't see a reprint hitting soon considering Theros was heavily opened. The archon itself is used in Legacy, casual play, and commander. That's enough to cause some demand. Because this thing's a mythic, there are also fewer copies floating around. Overall, Ashen Rider is a really cheap buy. You don't stand to lose a lot if you get some with loose change lying about.

Eidolon of the Great Revel is a great staple in burn decks, but I'm not sure if it'll go down much because it's played so heavily in Legacy and Modern.

That's what I fear. Honestly, if I were playing burn, I'd just get them now.
