Price differences?

I don't understand why a Misty Rainforest is almost $100 but Marsh Flats is barely above $50 according to TCGplayer.com. can someone please explain this?
As you can see Misty Rainforest is played in roughly 50% of all the decks in modern, and Marsh Flats is only played in about 20%. There's simply more demand for Misty Rainforest and that drives the price up.

I pretty much figured it was something like that. Hadn't had the chance to look at the different sources for modern decks but assumed it had something to do with a higher demand.

Also, I missed this - not only is Misty Rainforest being played in more decks in general, it's also a full card ahead on the average number of Misty Rainforest played in those decks. 3.2 vs 2.2.

For one thing, its the modern meta game, and another thing is that its a blue fetch, and legacy loves blue fetches.

48.4% of all the Modern meta, 41.1% of Legacy.
Jesus Christ.

So Scalding Tarn is the same story?
Misty Rainforest and Scalding Tarn are the only modern fetches that get blue and blue is very heavy in modern hence the prices being higher.
Also, to those who had smartass comebacks to my question, I don't play modern or legacy at all. Hence why I don't follow the metas and know what decks run what.
I appreciate the feedback but there is no reason to be a douche about it.
At least epoch just said "because blue".

If I'm not mistaken, Marsh Flats was also printed in supplemental product. It didn't put that many more copies in circulation, but it did add some.

Marsh Flats was printed in en event deck, but the additional copies are largely insignificant in the larger scope of the secondary market. Consider that Verdant Catacombs and Arid Mesa are both very close to Marsh Flats in terms of value.

Marsh Flats wasn't in an event deck, unless I looked it over. Verdant Catacombs was in the M12 event deck Vampire Onslaught.

@the3rdH0kage: Good catch. That further detracts from the reprint argument; Verdant Catacombs is worth more than Marsh Flats .

I don't play a lot of modern, but I would say it's got something to do with the meta. For standard, whenever blue and black devotion was running rampant, the UB dual lands were more expensive than the others (granted that was just a couple dollars difference). My guess would be that searching for a forest or island is in some way more valuable than searching for a swamp or a plains in modern.
