Hey guys, so I just picked up a set of the Scavenging Ooze DotP 2014 promos. Got the set for $25.63 incl. shipping. While I'm happy with the purchase either way, where do you guys think this card's price is headed?

It would only take any G/x deck doing well in standard to give it a temporary boost, but I'm thinking more long-term. Given that it's a staple in several decks in eternal formats, I fully expect it to rise. Sure, they're really plentiful now, but you've got lots of players like me snapping up their playsets while they're cheap and not planning to get off of them, which should result in a steady drop in supply.

Maybe players who know a little more about promo economics would care to chime in.

I don't think scavenging ooze will do crazy things. It's a great card but its probably at a high due to it being in standard. Its price will fall a bit when it rotates out of standard but not too much due to the fact that (as you said) it does see play in eternal formats. It is a rare, not a mythic, so it's never going to be in really short supply.

I don't know about promos though.

okay, that is nuts that you got a set for that price. the alternate art that you talking about was going for 20$ alone like two months ago, when theros prerelease came out. i would definately hold on to them, and where did you get them? cuz i love that art, and i want three more myself.

I got mine off of tcgplayer. A store called The Mages Tavern had them for $6.16 apiece (NM!), and there was $.99 shipping on the whole thing. Ordered Thursday, got here this morning. They sold out, but it looks like there are still tons available from other stores for around $6.50.

i dont think it's going to rise all that much honestly. the market was flooded with a core set print and promo. my guess is it will drop with rotation to the price you bought it, then maybe rebound to 8 on reprint/promo
