Regarding two cards

So I'm just putting two questions in one to avoid unnecessary threads.

Question one: I noticed (after I got my playset finished just the other day) that Eidolon of the Great Revel spiked from $5 up to almost 8 bucks. How come this happened? Did burn do absurdly well in some tournament or what?

Question two: Why on earth is Argothian Enchantress 15 dollars? Sure, it's good, but it's not really played anywhere as far as I know. Is it just Commander doing funky things?

Eidolon is a staple of ALL format burn decks now. Expect it to rise over the years as less and less are on the market. Even Goblin Guide was 8 at one point

Argothian Enchantress is part of an actual Legacy deck (named after it "enchantress") along with a staple of any voltron aura decks in EDH

I'd tap Argothian Enchantress. Tiny Leaders, perhaps?

Dunno about Eidolon.

As VampireArmy said Argothian Enchantress is part of a legacy GW control deck that uses it and Enchantress's Presence to fuel Solitary Confinement until you can win.

Eidolon of the Great Revel punishes your opponent for playing almost anything in modern and legacy so it is great in burn in all formats.

Oh I know it's great everywhere, I'm just wondering why it jumped three bucks in just a few days.

burn is popular again

Eidolon of the Great Revel started to go up gradually after PTFRF where burn did pretty okay as a deck.

Whenever a meta is shaken up (rotations, bannings, etc.) RDW/burn gets more popular. This time around was no exception.

Also, not sure just how many people read SCG premium, but their finance guy regularly makes specs after big tournaments and before new and old sets rotate. Two weeks ago he had an article and Eidolon was on it, he thinks it's going to hit 15-20 dollars by the end of 2015, early 2016 if it doesn't see some sort of reprint in a duel deck or whatever.
