Reprint Value Cards

Does an expensive card getting a reprint (like Karn Liberated in MM2) generally make the price of the original go up, down, or stay the same? Have a karn and trying to decide what to do with it with the news of his reprinting in mm2. (He is currently around $47 on tcg)

Well in the last MM the prices of mythic went up. The cards became so popular that demand went up massively. Because MM was a small print run the supply didn't increase a lot, and therefore prices actually went up. Goyf for example went up by about $15.

Commons, uncommons, and MOST rare went down massively. However it's worth noting that Karn was in the last MM I believe so this is his second reprint now. He may well go down this time just because he's been reprinted a little bit now.

I'm fairly certain that karn was not in MM1. However, his reprint will still make him go down, because what's GR Tron?

The extremely limited print run may very well make Goyf's price go up again.

They have said it's a bigger run than mm1 was but not sure how true that is.

Even if it is a bigger run, the price of packs is more expensive than the last set. Not so sure Goyf's price will drop sadly.
