Ok so, I have recently come across some money after doing some work and I need help deciding which booster box i should get, I mean Theros has some nice mythic's and rares but RTR has great utility along with good stuff. I have gotten 2 theros boxes and stuff but am not sure if i should invest in anymore or go to RTR for a bit. Any thoughts?

if you're a standard player, theros will be around for a year more then rtr.
that being said value wise you're probably better with rtr as more of those cards are seeing play in all formats.

I believe it happens every September, when a new block is released

There is alot more rares from RTR that will see play in modern and legacy after rotation so your best bet is to go with RTR.

only if he plays modern or legacy, or thinks he can get stuff he needs from modern and legacy players after it rotates out.

Depends how quickly you intend on either trading or selling the cards you get in there as people have said Theros will decline in price quickly but for the moment if you can get better things for the cards you get quick its better going Theros. I made the booster box price back from five cards alone personally then the rest added on made it double the price of the cost of the booster box and I've seen a lot of people get better. It is all down to how long you intend to hold onto them for though RTR generally has more cards in it that have lasting prices and won't go down all that much.
If its sheerly for cards you want to play then you should look at both sets and see what cards suit your decks better generally that will be RTR but its worth checking especially considering if your playing standard Theros lasts a year longer.

the reason the prices are more stable in RTR right now is simply because of the fact that it's been out longer and people have seen/tested/and played all of those cards more extensively. Whereas people are still figuring out what works and what doesn't with Theros. You never know whats going to be coming in the next two sets of the Theros block so Theros cards that don't see use immediately could easily jump in value once the other sets drop. Kinda like how Master of Waves and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx have doubled and tripled in price respectively after PT Theros

I'd go with RtR, unless you're a cuthroat trader. Theros has some flashy things, but prices for them in general will all decline. The reason they are so high currently is because there is still a relatively small amount of Theros that has been opened in relation to RtR. Another factor is that the Standard meta hasn't been completely defined, so everyone is taking shots in the dark as to what will become a staple and what will become casual/fringe play fodder.
RtR on the other hand has Jace, Architect of Thought (who is riding high now, so you can get some great stuff by trading him), Sphinx's Revelation (same deal as Jace, but a little more stable), Deathrite Shaman (very stable; a staple in all formats), all the RtR Shocklands (which will only go up in price as less and less RtR gets opened), Desecration Demon (Also spiked due to standard play), Abrupt Decay (insert staple statement here) as well as plenty of solid Standard cards including Vraska the Unseen , Mizzium Mortars , Supreme Verdict , Loxodon Smiter etc...
