So I opened a box of KoT and got a great box. The biggest thing I got was a foil Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker . Would now be the time to trade/sell it or is the value gonna climb?

If you are not going to use him, dump quickly, he is not going any higher then he is currently worth.

That puts you half way towards a new box :) well just assuming your local shop trades at 70% value as mine does.

My shop trades at 50% tcg mid, and they do the non foil price....they are pretty cheap. I don't trade in cards anymore, I just sell on ebay if I need to. Anyway, I say sell it now. No reason for it to go higher, so unload before he drops

@ CommanderOfBolas

Ouch...... 50% of TCG mid and no bonus for foils, thats rough, yeah I would not trade at that either...... Trading Khans Fetches at like $8..... no thanks.

My shop does 70% of their own pricing structure that is a DB of a bunch of sites including SCG and TCG, they give full foil pricing, as well as trade at 100% for Alpha/Beta/Unlimited/Revised Dual lands or Power9.

Where do you guys expect him to settle then. I think he's the real deal. A lot of pros seem to like him as well. I don't think the non foil will hold it's $40 price on SCG probably more in the $25-$30 range like Elspeth. Being foil though don't you think this ill hold it's value considering Sarkhan looks to be a staple of this new standard?

The biggest issue here is that everything in the set, cannot hold its value, once the monetary value of whats in the packs will by average be equal to or more then the cost of the box, it no longer makes sense to sell boosters, or to raise the price of boosters.

Typically, this will not happen until the set rotates or well after due to the costs of the power cards raising.

Khans is different, and I am not complaining. I did very well in this set. I started purchasing 2 pre-release boxes and in all in pulled 5 fetches, a foiled Narset, and a foiled Surrak. Since then I have opened 6 fat packs, 1 box of boosters and countless booster packs. All from running trade off this set essentially.

End of story, something has to drop. Either Fetches and their foiled counterparts drop, or everything else does. My money is on everything else as fetches are and always will be eternally played cards.

well maybe not hold the $80 price tag it has now, but i guess I should say that I don't see the foil dropping below $50 any time soon.
