Sell/Trade Mox Amber

I got a promo Mox Amber. It seems like a card build for commander, and even there its good but not broken by any means and will see no play in eternal formats. Should I sell it/trade it off very soon while the price is still inflated?
Short term I think you're right to ditch it. It doesn't seem like it's going to make any lasting impression on Standard and there aren't any other decks that seem to want it.
I think long term (as in years) it's worth holding on to because it's still a 0 mana artifact that taps for mana. If WotC printed a 0-mana, legendary creature that still has a color (something like a legendary Dryad Arbor or a creature in the vein of Ancestral Vision), it becomes powerful. It also just gets better as more 1-mana legendary creatures are printed over time.
While these scenarios are rare and probably not something we'll see any time soon, they aren't unthinkable.

get two. hold one. sell the second.
It's a mox, so it is nearly a sure bet it will be worth holding onto at least one.
If you only care about Standard, dump it. More for me, and my buyout buddies.

It's a Mox in name only. If you "buyout" this one I hope you still live at your Mom's place! :D :D

well you don't buyout now, silly. there is a specific time and place for that.
and "pft" to "a mox only in name". just because standard has a hard time with it doesn't mean it's always going to have that issue.
it's still a 0cmc rock. so what that you need a ledgendary in play it is still a great card.
also... nice try at an insult.

Really, a buyout on Mox Amber is not feasible. By simple math, you need millions to buyout a single mythic from a new set, so it is not worth it. PLus, if the demand is not there, why bother.
To the original question, do get rid of it, while there is a demand for it. The only reason it has a modicum of demand is that it is called a Mox. That is hardly enough to sustain it. Compare to a card like Karn, Scion of Urza which was hyped and turned out to be good in gameplay too.

update: i was able to get $35 store credit at my LGS, I took it and ran. In my playtesting the card is really quite bad. It is mox in name only.

I think you made the correct decision, the card is falling in price everywhere and additionally, supply of DOM is limited right now, since the demand and hype was higher than anticipated, once Wizards gets more boxes in stores, the supply will recover and prices will drop significantly.
Additionally, you seem to have correctly identified that the card requires too much setup to be good.

You are correct- sell/trade it asap. I can see it easily going for as low as $10 once the hype dies down.
