I'm a casual player that's just starting to get into edh. I know it's well worth the value but it's like three days worth of work for me to pay for it. It's still on tcg player below MSRP. I know I'll never see it for that price again

There are a significant number of desirable cards in the set, so even if you dont end up sticking with EDH as a regularly played format in the future, youll still get a ton of trade value out of it. Overall that reduces your risk and adds value, leaving the only question being, do you want to save the cash to buy it? It seems like a solid investment either way.

shadow63 as a newcomer to MtG (less than three months) I am buying the Anthology II for three reasons:

One is these four decks have so many cards that are always mentioned in decks in edhrec, Tappedout, Jumbo Commander videos, etc. I am sure I can cut my onsie and threesie card buys form Amazon and CardKingodom down a lot. Those great cards are in these decks and I can make proxies or move them around. The Anthology is a good value it seems. And although this is a BIG purchase fo rme, I think it is "worth" it in the long run to any beginner who is pretty sure they will stick with the game for awhile.

Two, I bought Feline Ferocity and that deck works so well that I now know that WotC makes good decks and are not expensive to upgrade and tweak. They work right out of the box.

Three, it gives my daughter, friend and I more great decks to play amongst ourselves if we don't want to play our main decks or the crappy decks we make out of the bulk boxes we started with. Deck building is a black art, its the most fun, but it takes gobs of time, knowledge or money or all three.

To be perfectly honest, the decks straight out of the box aren't really great unless you spend more cash on them pimping them out.

If you have a couple of friends who you play against around a kitchen table with then purchase away and have fun.

However, if you are looking to play semi-competitively/casually at your LGS I'd spend that money on a pre-con deck and score some solid singles to make it win some games.
