I ordered 4 Flagstones of Trokair from Channel Fireball and to my surprise 2 of them was signed by the artist, Rob Alexander.
How are the value of the card impacted by this?

Why are we idiots? I don't like writing on my cards and could care less about the artist.

To me it's all based on how you value the card, personal opinion, etc.
I wouldn't trade a foil signed Ral Zarek for anything, yet I see it's value lesser than a non-foil Karn Liberated to anyone who doesn't care.

An Alexander signature usualy adds up to 50% of value to the card. For these, though, the card isn't the best, so don't expect too much value out of it.

Trying to get a cheaper price for a signed card using the argument that it's damaging is just being cheap. If you don't desire signed, don't take them from people who do.
Nothing against you personally, but I have a ton of signed stuff and when people offer me less than face value for them it's insulting.

Does Steve Argyle signatures make a card more valuable? I ordered 4 signed Deathrites, and I wonder where he fits on the notoriety scale for designing magic cards

Argyle signs a ton of stuff, so his aren't crazy valuable. Still adds some value though.

Certain cards are worth more money if they are signed by the artist. A lot of EDH staples are like Deadeye Navigator or Damnation .

cards are ultimately "worth" as much as you can get someone to pay for them. many people place higher value on signed cards, especially if the card or artist is more popular, or the art is exceptionally good.
many retailers, like channel fireball referenced in the OP, will downgrade a nearly mint card to slightly played if it is signed. they acknowledge that not all players want a signature on their cards, so it is automatically designated has having some damage. i'm guessing you ordered slightly played (or worse) condition cards from the site, which is how you got the signed ones.
with that being said, if you don't necessarily want the signed cards, i have found channel fireball customer service to be great, and i'd think they would swap them out for other slightly played cards if you contacted them.

It's completely up to the individual.
I would love to have my cards signed. I personally believe it definitely ups the value, but as some have posted, they don't like their cards signed.

I finished having my Emrakul, The Aeons Torn signed. Price on these? I really love them (Spaghetti Boi!) but I'd like to know for the future.

Some consider it damaging the card, however they are idiots. I usually add a few bucks value. For example, I might value a $10 card at $13.
It depends on the trader/buyer.
