Signed Cards vs Regular Cards

I have a playset of original art Inquisition of Kozilek and i was going to get them signed by their artist at GPLondon. However, since i am most likely going to end up selling them, should I? Would they decrease the value? Thanks
If the artist dies, signed value goes up. Have him sign you IoKs, lean forward, whisper The Lannister Send Their Regards, stab him in the throat and your IoKs will be worth a bit more!

I've generally found that signed cards have increased trade value. But yes, stores will treat them as SP/LP.

I actually bought a signed Tamiyo, the Moon Sage the other day from my LGS. She was NM/LP but I paid the same price a HP tamiyo would go for. So yes. Signatures do decrease monetary value.

So signatures decrease the value of a card unless they don't. They're a very tricky subject because you need to find the right buyer. There are a good number of players who pay a premium to have cards signed, but these are the only people who will not take off value. It also depends on the artist's signature. Something signed by Terese Nielsen or Raymond Swanland are generally accepted as increased value because the signatures are just amazing. Something signed by peter mohrbacher however is basically worthless because his signature looks like he did it with his feet in crayon. So basically it's a gamble. If you want to play with signed cards, get them signed. If you want to have signed cards in your binder, get them signed. If you want to sell cards immediately for full market value, don't get them signed.

Signed cards are most Often considered slightly played by any shop and almost every buyer. If your intent is to sell, don't get them signed.
