Sin Prodder: Pre-order now? Or wait?

Sin Prodder is currently sitting at $6 on SCG (link). Do you think that price will go up? Go down? Should I pre-order now, assuming it will only go up? Or wait to see if it drops? Any input would be much appreciated.
True. Most (if not all) cards drop like a stone just after release.

It's all supply and demand. If there end up being a lot opened, the price is going to plummet right away, or if they are opened more over time, the price will just steadily decrease

Yes I'd have to agree,I pulled a Jace, vryns prodigy at pre-release and traded it off for $15 because everyone was super aggro about me getting rid of it asap. Needless to say I came out on top....oh wait.

Lol but it all seriousness the Jace situation is very rare and probably won't be repeated for a very long time if ever and sin prodded is no jace. $6 isn't a ton of money so if you absolutely just want to make sure you get it as soon as possible go for it otherwise wait.

The card is definitely solid. But, you need to keep in mind Standard rotation will see RDW make a comeback like it does with any new format. Battle for Zendikar was an exception because Siege Rhino was already an established part of the format and BFZ didn't have enough low-cost red creatures.
We've already seen two playable 1-drop red creatures, and it's not every card in the set to help determine what else RDW needs. We already have Makindi Sliderunner, Reckless Bushwhacker, Atarka's Command will still be legal, etc. etc.
In other words, I suspect Sin prodder will spike hard like Hellrider and Goblin Rabblemaster did, then fall off as people figure out the format.

Sin prodder is free CA every turn tacked onto a creature with no real downside. It also works well in multiples (unlike a certain black creature that does similar things). I'd buy in now actually. It might be part of a new RG CoCo deck with Arlinn Kord as the curve topper. At least that's one of my brews. The card is nuts and it's not getting the attention it probably should. It is only a rare instead of a mythic, but so was Den Protector and that shot up to $15 at one point based just on standard performance. $6 isn't too bad of a price for what it does.

People were also claiming Pain Seer to be the next Dark Confidant before it released and was going for $12-15 preorder. For every baby Jace/thought-knot story about prices going up there are going to be 50 stories of how an overwhelming majority of cards dropped significantly after releasing. If you must have them right away them order them. If you're not playing in a big tournament right away then wait.

Sin Prodder fits in aggressive decks perfectly. It is not a midrange card like Bob, but when you start out attacking your opponent's life total hard, the 'downside' of this card is minimal. At the very least, I consider it to be on the level of Abbot of Keral Keep (currently around $8 tcg) if not better. It is a good card for traditional Gruul agro, which might be a thing in new standard while Arlinn Kord and Atarka's Command are together.

I'm not arguing the power level, I think it will be very good. But all the arguments people are making about card advantage for aggro decks, people were saying the same thing about Pain Seer. People are going to open ALOT of product for this set, so lots of Sin Prodder will be opened since it's only a rare, meaning a huge supply. It won't have the baby Jace or Rabblemaster problem of being in a lightly opened set. It will have to be a 4 of in multiple decks to maintain $6 even with how trends have shown over the past few sets. I think people are overlooking the opponent choosing aspect, and them being able to blank your removal or land drops you could draw. I would gladly take 1 damage to put that Fiery Impulse etc into the yard. I think it will be a great engine for red decks in standard, but even a few months after release with it impacting multiple formats heavily Thought-Knot Seer and Reality Smasher can barely hold $10 and $5 prices respectively. Sin Prodder won't get to impacting non-standard formats(edh players won't be chomping at the bit to get these either) like those other cards. Sure after a red deck wins the first PT after rotation people will buy into the red deck staples after the PT like always but then supply will catch up and they will go down to half of what the post spike price does.
If you're really convinced it's going to go up the by all means get them. It's a great card. I will be waiting to snag a few after the drop though.

A lot of people opened Dragons of Tarkir, yet Den Protector still commands a high price (not to mention most of the Commands). I know about Pain Seer, but it was pretty obvious it wasn't that great of a card since you had to jump through so many hoops (I never got on the hype train with that one). Considering Sin Prodder is also a creature with evasion that works towards making the opponent's choice harder if you reveal anything with cmc2+ off the top, it could be a big player.
However, there have been so many good cards spoiled in this set so far, I do admit that the price might fall based solely on people opening so much of this set. Right now ALL of the cards available for pre-order seem inflated since they're mostly very playable. Some of them will have to give when the set drops, and it's anyone's guess as to which ones those will be.

I think this card will probably follow Standard's cost trends. But this could possibly find its way on Modern Jund lists. It curves so well as a bigger and easily splashable Dark Confidant that's harder to block. It also deals the damage to the opponent while fueling Tarmogoyfs, Scavenging Ooze, and Liliana of the Veil. It allows Jund to have a three card draw step engine by turn 3. That's a bit insane. I think this card really could be the next Dark Confidant and in the long term could go for $12-15.
If I'm wrong I think the card will probably drop to $3 once Standard settles in. And go down to $2 after it rotates.

I bough a playset for 2 bucks apiece, I can see it going up a bit, but not too much. It is still too early to tell, but it could see some play in modern.
Are you talking about the foil price on SCG? Because the non foil price is 2.99.
Also 3 mana 3/2 menace is already solid, but add in the possible card or life advantage i think it puts it with in the play the stock market category

Always wait to order stuff. If you must have them right away then aggressively trade for them at your prereleases, otherwise you're 95% of the time going to save money by waiting.
