So, I just opened a Snapcaster Mage in a booster pack, and my friends were really excited. They said that by the end of the month, he will shoot up to about $50-$100. I highly doubt this. Will any of you clarify this or tell me what you think it will do? (Up or Down)

Unlikely. The next large-scale Modern event is Grand Prix Boston-Worcester, which is mid-July. Snappy already peaked during Pro Tour Born of the Gods; check his MTGStocks page here.
His price has steadily declined from his peak of $38. My guess is he'll be stablizing soon, at around $30. Give or take. There's no reason for him to jump up to $50 this month, or next month. It's doubtful he'll jump up again until next Modern season.

No he wasn't a foil. I know there are a few Modern GP's coming up soon, like GP Chicago in November, but will it go up for the next modern GP?

If it does, It will only be by a little bit. Probably barely noticeable. He definitely wont go above 40 this year.

He was up to about $38 in the middle of March, but he's been gradually slipping to $32 today. I find it highly doubtful he'd be $50 in just 2 weeks and I'd be wary of the person who told you that.

@lotusofblackness: the modern GP in chicago was in 2012. this year's chicago GP is in june and is standard.
the remaining modern gp's in 2014 are in boston in july, japan in august, and madrid in november. i'm not sure how much global gp's influence card prices though.

Lets also note that this summer is the modern ptq season. GP's aren't the only thing that drives prices...

I thought his price already spiked... it's been sliding downward a bit. Was he a foil?
