I have seen snapcaster rising pretty steadily over the past week. do you think he will jump in price considering the pro tour bng modern winner was using them? he is at about 27 right now. how high do you think he will go? will he drop soon, or will he stay high?

He's going to be over $40 after GP Richmond. Grab them now if you need them. I said this after he rotated out of standard; he is the next Dark Confidant.

Why would it drop?

Generally speaking, once a Modern card begins to rise due to tournament success, it will plateau before it ever falls. And when it does fall, the decline will be gradual.

I would buy Snapcaster Mage now. He will never again be so "cheap", only way for him is up, up, up...

Just bought one actually. Unfortunately, I need four for the modern deck I'm trying to put together. Super good speculation, sure to rise. I can see it being on par with Bob price wise, truthfully.

Also consider that Modern is a growing format, and more and more people will be buying Modern staples. That's going to keep pushing his price up. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go up another $5 after the Event Deck comes out, and another $5 at least when the fetches are reprinted. All those things will increase the popularity of the format.

But, one reason why Modern has becme popular recenty is because Standard is in decline. The Theros block sucks for Standard.

When will the fetches be reprinted?

cschiller No one knows. I believe the Onslaught Fetch lands will be reprinted in the next set.

The only confirmed timeline we've been told for the fetches is "soon", and that came from Mark Rosewater last year.

I'm speculating that we'll start seeing them in the 'Huey' set this September. The shocks will have to rotate out of Standard first, or the format will be stupid. Modern NEEDS the Onslaught fetches to become a balanced format, and all of them - including the Zendikar ones - need to be reprinted just for availability's sake. I doubt a reprint will have much of an effect on the fetch prices though, at least not in the long run.

Yeah I need 8-10 fetchlands now for modern, and I really don't want to fork over $500 for them. I've heard a lot about possible fetch reprinting, and I'd like to see some official stuff, but they need to come back.

I'm praying at uncommon, but that'll never happen.

They'll never be uncommon level. They will be rare and if you are waiting you'll likely have to wait until 2015.

Why 2015? The 'Huey' block will need some kind of dual lands. Fetches just make sense, especially with Wizards reprinting so many Modern staples in the last year.

SharuumNyan The new set released in October 2014, so I was a few months off. Either way, there is still quite some time before Fetch Lands might be reprinted.
