AEther Vial went up $10 this past weekend. I didn't see any coverage over the weekend so I don't know if an Aether vial deck won again or whatnot. It sucks for me who needs 2 more to finish my playset.
Wasn't that last week? Why the spike now? Or has it spiked a year ago?

Yeah, but that's the only reason I could think of. Maybe there was a buyout, I don't know. For all I know, cards don't randomly decide to jump in price like that.

Was Goblin Piledriver Modern legal before? I think the reprint announcement made people want to play goblins in Modern, and thus everyone is trying to get their vials.

It was not Modern-legal before, so you may be correct willsm87. Also the Modern CoCo Elves deck will be getting new toys to play with, so perhaps there's some overlap there too if people are brewing that way with AEther Vial.

NO willsm87 don't you dare try to come up with a logical reason lol. It must be a buy out or something..... there has to be something fishy about every card when it's price rises or else people would have no reason to make posts.

There was a finance article, I think mtggoldfish, that said the buy out was created by Star City and that they were buying out all small vendors.

Combination of merfolk doing well and this guy:
Using vial bypasses the "pay 2 extra" clause and can be done mid-combat for additional shenanigans.

I randomly opened one from a Darksteel pack the other day. I can't believe the card was initially an uncommon...

If i did not have exactly 4, I would be selling these like hotcakes.
Damn, card is expensive. There were no notable Modern top 8 finishes in the SCG tourneys (unless you count D&T finishing second in Legacy, but when have Legacy results ever impacted prices).
