Pulled Brimaz, King of Oreskos in my BNG box. Right now he is sitting in an EDH deck but I'm wondering what the rest of you see in his future. Has enjoy his max right now with $40 or will he spike higher like voice-of-reaurgence did for a minute? I like him, but I might like money more if he is gonna drop a bunch

sell it now, then pick up a cheaper one when the prices have stabilized

At 3/4 for 3 CMC he is a fine card. Add in vigilance and he should be considered for any WW deck. Give him the ability to give cat tokens whenever he does anything and he is one of the best 3 CMC cards in existance.

Right now though he is new and shiny so he is inflated. He is also legal in every format. I forsee a slow drop to $20 until he rotates out and then a drop to about $5-10 after he rotates. This is contingent on him not being in a tournament winning deck of course. If he wins a tournament I see a spike to $50 until September and then the gradual decline.

If only that said cat knight instead of soldier, I'd be all over that. Great card either way and should maintain some value because he slides right into any soldier trbial deck. If you're looking to make money on him though I'd sell now, more tims than not expensive cards in standard don't stay expensive for too long.

Well, considering you have him in an EDH deck, I'm guessing you don't have a standard top 8 archetype laying around you can stuff him in. That being the case, i would trade him in for whatever you would rather have in that EDH deck.

Wat?

Vendilion Clique and Liliana of the Veil seem okay.

Take a look at Hero of Bladehold , its is a superior card and is basically a must kill. That is where I see Brimaz, King of Oreskos landing post rotation. I think he is probably a $15-$20 card while in standard. Wait and see how many copies are in the SCG Open today and then you might see a spike. I would try to unload him early next week if there is no spike by Monday.

fluffybunnypants: there are over 3100 three cmc cards. So I figure that the top 1% at least so 31 cards are "one of the best". It may not even be in the top 31 but I like it enough to wager on it being in there.

Behgz, I play WUR in Standard. It doesn't really seem like the right place "stuff him". I have him in my Rafiq EDH because with the right equipment on him he is way more powerful that he already is. Also, all those cat tokens become extra exalted triggers in my Rafiq deck.

Sounds like you've decided what to do with him then.

I would sell him now. He's good, but not $40 good. His price will most definitely drop. I assume he will go down quite a bit.
