So, it is very soon Christmas. Therefore, I do of course wish some Magic cards. However, my family have no idea how to buy singles...
So, what product is worth the most economically? I was thinking boosters, but they don't really have that much value...
Then I thought about the From the Vaults: Angels. Is this product still worth it? It's price seems decent as a gift and it is relatively easy to buy.
What else could be a good product to put on my wish list?
Yeah I was gonna say ask for a Gift Card to TCGPlayer.

Oh, well, I could ask for a gift card. However, it just seems so impersonal and boring... ;)

Unfortunately, the fat packs got ripped away so fast! There is no more left, unfortunately.... However, it was a good idea!

For singles a gift card is best or just ask for cash for the intended purpose of MTG cards. That way you don't have to worry about shipping costs.
Or look up deck/product lists to see where you can obtain the most value. One of the recent duel decks had some nice value if I recall correctly, a Siege Rhino, Windswept Heath, CoCo and a few others included within.
I personally just prefer the cash. Lol

A Booster Box of Khans of Tarkir would be my choice. With the Spikes of the Fetch lands, it's not only a fun Draft but quite possibly a lot of value in there.

You could like ask for some singles and the gift giver could choose which to get you?

Not exactly in the spirit of xmas, but you could always ask for a product that will be easy for you to re-sell. Maybe you loose 10 bucks in value (but not even, given part of that is based on cards you have no interest in), then use the money to buy the single you actually want. My family would also have no idea how to buy singles, nor would they be interested in learning. They also would have no idea if I "exchanged" their gift, and would probably still be happy knowing that i ultimately got what i wanted.

I think that's what he's trying to avoid, chief, as "...My family have no idea how to buy singles"
The only real way to get what you want instead of what you dont is to ask for a gift card and get it yourself. That's just how gift giving works as you get older.

If you're into EDH, the Commander 2015 decks have some neat cards with moderate value. Plus they're fun straight outta the package.

I think a way for them to buy singles that aren't singles like for example, from the vaults or duel decks or an event deck or something.... that would be good.

Ok, to furthermore specify my question, is it worth it to buy the "From the Vault: Angels"? I need the cards for commander in the near future, but I wonder, if the cards are still worth it? My store sells it for 45$...

Heck, if you're not paying for it how could it not be worth it? But if you need the cards then yea man go for it. Plus the spindown is rad.

A box of something would always be good for some holiday draft fun!

It may not be the best price (or maybe it is), but you could give them links to the singles on Amazon. If they use Amazon, it'd be easy to just add them to the cart.
As far as the value of From the Vault: Angels, Tolarian Community College has a video on it here.

Why not ask for a Gift card to your Local LGS?
Then you could buy all the singles you want ;)
