spec on Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip

Hey guys :)
I just opened an Eye of Ugin expedition and am looking to get rid of it. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip is card I need to finish one of my modern decks and was just wondering if you guys think he will hold his value and if trading the eye for him (plus some other stuff) would be worth it down the road.. Do we see Jace dropping at all and if so would he fall enough to make this regretful?

My thoughts, however I will warn you that I am inexperienced.
The number one thing that dictates a card's price (usually) is its usefulness primarily in standard, then in modern. Jace will likely drop ever so slightly down to 60, maybe even 50 dollars after rotation. Keep in mind that he is functionally a snapcaster mage. In a few years, he may command prices of upwards 100 dollars, due to demand, just like snapcaster.
Now the Eye of Ugin is a curiosity. I personally find it likely that due to the Eldrazi absolutely snapping the Modern format in half that the Eye of Ugin may find itself on a ban list. In the case this happens, the expedition may drop in price. Keep in mind that the price of the card did not fluctuate at all after the most recent modern tournaments.
My suggestion? Get the cards you want when you want them! If you don't feel like waiting a few months so you can pinch a 20 dollar difference on a singular card, then don't do it! If I know the Eye of Ugin will sit there and collect money for me, but I'd actually use Jace, I'd get Jace in a heartbeat.
Hope that helps!

I only seem him going up for now. Innistrad is coming back around, so Jace will easily be an all-star and go up a pretty penny. After he rotates, I'd say he'll drop to around $30-40, similar to Vendilion Clique: a strong card in select decks from a very much unopened set. Maybe a bit more since Clique got reprinted.

Hes gonna tank like no other card. He has a better version in Snapcaster Mage, and every format that could play both will play 4 Snappy and 0-2 Lil-Jace, if they need Jace at all..

Grixis plays 4 jace, and doesn't always run full snaps. And with madness spoiled for shadows over, jace is going up.

Jace (and the rest of the flipwalkers) are also the only double-sided cards (which are very rarely made) in the last core set. There will be demand for them for that as well.

True, thanks for all of the input.. I am hoping to move the eye fast for the probable ban hammer, that and I just have no use for it. I know Jace will dip once he rotates but wasn't sure how much and since he is used in pretty much one deck it looks like he'll probably take a considerable hit.. I've proposed a trade for him and a Mox Diamond, we'll see what happens. An thanks again, this really does help.

I'm personally not huge on jace I think after he rotates out of standard he is gonna crash. I run grixis control and I personally prefer snippy snaps. If I'm spending 60+ on a card it needs power like snapcaster or LotV to be justified.

Yea, the more I think about it the more I think I'm gunna try to aim for Snapcaster Mages, foil shocks/fetches, other expeditions and other things of decent value

Jace will always be worth money, hes not going to tank. If you can score Jace in a decent trade, I would do it.
Hes not just a snappy, hes also a looter, he is very powerful as a 2 drop both in creature and walker form.
I dont foresee Jace dropping under $50 again anytime soon.

I feel he will go up for now, and then plummet hard at rotation.
I remember having a similar conversation in the past with people about cards like Thragtusk, and Boros Reckoner. Sure it is a little different, but if jace goes down to 15 bucks, that is a pretty big drop.

Spoilers and the new Blessed vs Cursed Duel Deck say that the mechanic of Madness (Which is enabled by Jace's loot) is returning, and the creation of a new mechanic called Delirium (Again, Jace enabled). These effects make Jace extremely powerful in the SOI standard, even more so than he was before, ergo Jace will seemingly go up in price. However, Snapcaster Mage has stabliized in price, even gone down slightly after Twin was banned. Thus, if I were you, I would trade for Jace, keep it until a little while after the inevitable Pro Tour jumpin price, and then trade it away for more financially stable cards like Snapcaster Mage a few months before rotation.

I see Jace dropping to around $40 bucks once SOI comes out due to one main reason; no more fetches in standard. Right now; every major deck is running fetches. That is why most decks are 3+ colors.
With the removal of fetches; we'll be going back down to 2 color decks with a chance of a splashed third. So it will be harder to justify playing Jace.
So Jace will drop hard and lose half his price. Yet he will slowly work his way back up once some one finds a strong deck to use him in and then thousands of people will copy his deck for their own use. So Jace would eventually rise back up to mid 60.

Jace will hold his value while he's in standard. Probably will continue to fluctuate between $70-90 dollars. Really depends on what the new standard meta looks like when Shadows Over comes out.
After he rotates... well, assuming that Eldrazi's been ban hammered by then, Grixis is the only deck in modern that uses him, and he isn't really used in legacy. Don't see him holding that much value.
