I've got a couple Standard Showdown buy a box packs that are totally minty and sealed. I'm wondering if it would be best to open them and try to get the value out now before things rotate, or if the potential premium contents might make this be a hot item in the future. Consider also, that these packs have a chance for the first two sets of Masterpiece cards ever introduced. Right now, id say their only worth about as much as a Modern or Eternal masters booster pack. What say you, Tappedout?

These things are likely to be printed for the next few years and will be very common. Holding on to them would be in my eyes anyway akin to holding on to a sealed dual deck but at like 1/10th the scale. They're very unlikely to appreciate over time unless you want to just hold them for a literal decade and they're discontinued before that decade starts.

They aren't really worth that much to me. I won 18 of them by going to multiple events during standard showdown, and the vast majority of them went something like bulk rare, bulk rare, foil common. I would never pay $10 for a single showdown pack. The best pack I opened just had an Emrakul in it ($18 at the time). I'd open them now before the standard cards lose value even more.
