I see it is a vintage / edh / fringe legacy staple. While currently, regulars are only $3. I have made a point of collecting 3 foil ones in 2 days. While valued at $15 vintage players love foils, so... How do you think the price will fluctuate over time?

(Craig Wescoe, TCGPlayer: Swan Song is just over $3. Non-foil might not rise much in the short term, but if you can get a deal on a foil I would recommend it. Vintage and Legacy players love their foils. Some part of me keeps thinking Stifle and that this is going to be a sleeper pick. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on it, but if you believe this is the card to invest in, I say go for it. I don't see it losing much value if you're wrong and it's one of the few cards I could see skyrocketing in some possible world.)

I would like it if it said "counter target spell". If would even out the power of puting down a 2/2 flier. My buddy has used it on me a few times now, and I got 8 and 10 damage in on him with the creature he gave me. The thing about this card is it is a liability, if you wanna put it in your deck cause its a cheap counterspell, guess what. Now you gotta pit other things in your deck to prepare for the 2/2 flier. Use doom blade on it in dimir control? Well you are just making yourself pay more. I just dont get why this card is rare. Most would be happy to get a 2/2 flier for free, especially if they are mad that their spell got countered

The thing about Swan Song , is like the OP said. It will most likely become a Legacy/Vintage Staple. Both formats aren't going to care about a 2/2 flier when they just combo out on you turn 3-4

When you play this spell, it's because you're protecting your combo, and are going to win that turn, it's not just somehow a FoW replacement lol

I'm quite intrigued by this card, in standard I don't see it coming to much use, in EDH, Vintage, Legacy, and maybe....maybe Modern I see it becoming a psuedo staple; and I mean it IS a phenomenally gorgeous foil

Shit just looked at the foil price and it has jumped by more than 10$ since launch

honestly, i think this card is going to be 8-10 for normal by the end of modern season. Just a hunch, but a 1cmc card that interupts Splinter Twin . Scapeshift ,Gifts Ungiven etc...or at least delays the deck another turn or 2 so they are forced to set up a counterspell with combo is pretty huge.

I guess we're not the only ones who see the power in this card: Foil Korean Swan Song

@Epochalyptik: why are korean cards so valuable / rare?

October 6, 2013 3:16 a.m.

@MTG_Player: Korean cards are some of the hardest for U.S. players to get, and I believe they have lower print runs.

Broadly speaking, Korean and Russian are the most valuable languages. Japanese and German tend to be the next most valuable.

id rather 2/2 flier than opponent having a griselbrand, but its really just a sideboard card in legacy, so i dont think the price will really be going crazy, maybe another couple $ especially when its out of print, but itll probably top out as one of those $5 legacy rares
