Lets say I have a signed Watery Grave would it be fair to charge more for it and if so how much more? (Of course its signed by the artist)

I believe signed cards are worth a bit less than their original value.

Depends on who the buyer is. Some people and stores view signatures as damage, so they'll want less for it. Others like signed cards, so they'll gladly give you more value for it because they want it more than a normal Watery Grave .

Depends. If there's a Raymond Swanland fanboy out there (there are), they may be willing to pay more. Otherwise, stores see it as damage, and will only pay less than full value

Lol. When I responded there was one response. This is why I usually just lurk in the forums rather than post

It really depends on the person buying it to be honest. Some people will grade it one step lower than the condition of the card i.e. a nm with sig will be graded as sp, but there are people who will pay a slight premium for signed cards, like an extra 5-10% depending on the card, and there are some who will just trade it at value signed or not. It all depends on your buyer.

It varies from person to person. Some people will view them as SP because that's what stores tend to call them (until, of course, those stores go to sell them, at which point they're special again). Others will view them as more collectible or special and will therefore offer more for them.

I tend to keep signed cards in EDH decks or trade them for increased value. If the other person isn't interested in the premium, I just wait for another trader.

The signature neither detracts nor adds value imo. The card is still the same card, playable at the same power level weather the person who drew the art has scrawled on it with a sharpie or not. But take my view with a grain of salt as I am the person who thinks the current price of Foil Brainstorm is due to a cruel joke on SCG's part and brain damage on the legacy community's part

i agree with the it depends... i dont have a favorite artist so personally:

if it's a cheaper card under ~10 i think oh cool it's a signature.

if it's a value card i would significantly decrease it's value as it's generally looked at as SP - damaged.

that being said, if you can find a storm island, signed by artist with a cool silver or gold gel pen...i'd value that much higher than the 1.25 the card is worth :)

They are hard to value highly due to difficulty in proving authenticity.

I would value one that looks like the artist would have signed it more then a regular card. 5 dollar card worth 7 or 8, 10 dollar card, 12-15 depending on if it is an art that I really like. If not, I do not really care. Someone will though. Just wait until you find someone that really wants it.
