Elspeth, Sun's Champion has a fairly good value right now. What is the trend expected on her?

I'm thinking she will take a big dip while Aggro is the more predominant deck in the format but will get a huge rise after control starts to make a comeback. Thoughts?

I actually think she will remain a relatively expensive card, but probably not over $25 once the Theros hype wraps up, she's not Liliana of the Veil . Perhaps another card released in a later set could increase her value, but I'm not a fortune teller.

I think I like her because her +1 makes 3 1/1s and her -3 takes away anything you couldn't gang block to kill (assuming same P/T). She also survives that wrath if you were to play her and then immediately activate it which is incredibly good.

That being said I know that aggro will become dominant until control starts to take over. That's what I mean by the dip then rise. I doubt she will be Liliana of the Veil priced but still pretty high.

I traded mine away as soon as the pre release ended. I do think she is good but at 6 CMC she is a little expensive to maintain a high price tag. She does have the means to protect herself and create a flow which is great in a planes walker but again, it comes back to how relevant and practical is she at 6 CMC

I actually think that Esper Control is incredibly strong right now. It's basically the Esper Superfriends part 2 carrying over Sphinx's Revelation and Supreme Verdict . You'll have to rely on your Jace, Architect of Thought for early card advantage, but it's more than doable.

We will just have to wait and see :) It will be nice to see the format slowed down though

I don't know if the format will actually slow down as a whole though? It's going to be decks packed with answers trying to stave off decks that are pretty much the same post-rotation.

R/G is still easily turn 4 lethal.

@fluffybunnypants:

That's ONLY if nothing is done to stop them in the meantime. There will be plenty of removal to use and value creatures to use to slow them down
