Theros staples right now Stormbreath Dragon being $20 give or take. Will it see modern competitive play at all and even rise in price after maybe a year or 2? I think Thundermaw Hellkite was better to tell you the truth and it dropped to like $10 within months for phasing out of standard.

To me, Thundermaw Hellkite was a much better dragon in that he almost guarantees a free swing for 5 because of his ability to tap down and the power/toughness at 5/5 was just much more threatening. I'm waiting to see Stormbreath Dragon drop some more, maybe around 15~ bucks, while in standard. And I like Thundermaw's art better too.

The pro-white is the only thing Stormbreath Dragon has going for itself against thundermaw, so it's not overly crappy compared to it.

Not really, Thundermaw Hellkite does more in terms of dealing with those Lingering Souls that are all over modern. But thundermaw only sees a bit of play in UWR sideboards and that's about it. I expect the Stormbreath Dragon to drop after it rotates. How much, I dunno, because that pro-white is pretty tempting in modern also.

pro white keeps it away from Path to Exile

although i'm not sure this will see much modern play, outside of maybe a sideboard slot for american type decks.

It's pro white is modern relevant since its immune to Path to Exile , Lightning Helix (so would require a board wipe or double bolts) and can block most of pod / hate bears if need be. But there is usually a better use of 5mana.
