Thoughtseize

I'm planning on getting a Thoughtseize from Lorwyn and I was wondering whether to get it now or will its price drop after demand for it drops with rotation.

It's currently just under $40 on tcg.

I doubt it will drop. The THS printing may show a slight, momentary drop (only to rise shortly after, or just rise after rotation), but I don't think the Lorwyn printing will do anything but go up.

Thoughtseize doesn't really lose much demand because it is heavily played in eternal formats including Modern and Legacy. The Theros version will drop and then begin to slowly rise. The Lorwyn version might drop slightly then rise. I'd say just buy them now.

If you are planning on buying Thoughtseize you should get the one from theros. Its prize will drop for a little while after rotation, so it would be a good buy.

Thoughseize won't drop any considerable amount any time soon. Its demand does not decrease with its Standard Rotation. Even if you buy the Lowryn version now, and it drops by $4 (Which is not really a considerable amount compared to its price), it will go back up. Buy it now.

Hey, remember how the shock lands only dropped in price by like a dollar when they rotated? Yeah, the same goes for thoughtseize. The 8 people in the world that only play competitive standard and no other format will be pitching them, and they will be bought up by stores immediately. Nowhere else is going to unload them.

It was 25$ a while back for the Lorwyn version when Theros first came out so it's been climbing for a while now...

I'm with ThatJunkMage. I'd be surprised if even the THS printing dropped in any real notable fashion. Just get your Lorwyn print now. There's no real value in waiting for a price drop for a card that will likely not happen at all.

I'd go ahead and buy them.

I'm just buying them now. As others have said they're not likely to drop very much at all. Maybe slightly and for a short time, but nothing big enough to make waiting worthwhile.

Thoughtseize won't drop when it rotates out.
